I am a first time grower. I 3 plants growing right now. 1 is on the 5th row of leaves. The other 2 are both on the 2nd row ( I dont know what the right term for everything is, im learning though).
My question is: How many rows of leaves should you let your plant grow to, before you switch to the 12/12 cycle so it can start budding?

Any help will be appreciated.

The rows of leaves ar called nodes. So your plants have 5 nodes.
There is no set size for a plant to be b4 you bud it as long as it has a decent root mass.
Just switch em onto 12/12 when they r a 1/3 of the size you want them to finish off being .
So like i said on another post if you have 6ft to play with switch em over at no more than 18" tall.
My grow space is about 36" in hight so all mine are switched over when they are no more than 6" tall and they all finish off being about 18" tall.

Ive done the 12/12 cycle for 2 days so far.

I was expectin a quick change in growth or budding.

It hasnt changed much.

Does it take a while for the 12/12 to start to set in?

Thanks.

Hey, it takes about 1.5 - 2 weeks before the plants will adapt to 12/12 after this initial period the plants will start to produce flower/bud @ the bud sites usually at the joins of the branches to the stem. The buds will slowly start to grow but they wont fill out untill the last 4 or 5 weeks of flowering then you should see a speeded up growth. I suggest you find out how long to flower you particular strain so you can pick them when there at there peak thc levels. Anyways, hope this helps.

Pick em when the pistils are 75% brown , and you wont go far wrong.
