How long should I wait until I can remove the strings that are tying down the branches so they won't go upwards? I have a little bit of a space issue, the lights are at the maximum height they can go and the plants are getting taller.

There is no middle stalk on account I cut them in an attempt to top the plant when they were young, and it hasn't seem to grow back yet...on either of them. My thought was because there was no light getting through to the cut part of the stalk because the other branches grew up and towards the middle instead. I guess to compensate for growth.

Also If anyone could figure out why the leaves are doing what they are doing, it would be greatly appreciated. I just can't seem to figure it out. PH runoff is 7 going in at 6.4. Just flushed with 6.6 because i seemed to have a little issue with a high PH. Maybe it takes a couple of days to recover? I don't know. Help would be appreciated.

wow bro kinda looks sad. anywayz were gonna doctor you right up. what kind of light are you using? are you using nutes? this looks kinda like a nitrogen def. idk though lol lots of factors that play i think ur ph is fine a lil high but overall seems ok give me sum more info and a better pic of the leaves

damn i didn't think they looked that bad. They were nice and bushy before I tied them down, now it's just open. I got a 400w mh using fox farm grow big at half strength. not very often at all. I've used once since the flush which was on monday. Will the center stalk grow back with the light on it now? Ill get a better picture with the leaves in a little while. Thanks

These ones are taken from a better camera.

I took a couple of the center stalks from both plants. Tell me what you think. There's a few so I'll have to split this in two posts.

Also those stalks have been like that i'd say close to three weeks now and really no sign of recover. The one looked like it had started growing at first and then stopped shortly after.

These leaves too look a little funky.

Anything u top does not grow back, your growth is moved to the nodes or bud branches. They look pretty good, maybe could use a bit more ferts. Don't take the strings off until your a couple weeks into flowering, and if u dont have to just leave them on. Looks good:thumbsup:

so in a sense did I lose my big bud that's the khola? and the most potent? cause if I did that would suck lol

lol, didnt look to much into topping did ya? Yes, u've traded the large top cola for two smaller ones. still the same tho, and actually may help the lower buds produce more.

Well I have done a little research, but what I found was that when you top correctly, two nodes grow back instead of the one. In this case, the stalk was cut, but didn't grow back and growth was directed to the other nodes that had already been growing.
If I top correctly the tops that can be topped, how long will it take the nodes to grow back and be ready for flowering, because these guys are gettin close, I'd just like to maximize yield.

Nothing grows back, when u top, u destroy the the cells in the plant that are responsible for new growth. However, every node/budbranch/budsite, has the same cells that create new growth like the top had before u cut it off. So, the new primary growth that used to be the top, now resumes on the 2 nodes closest to the top that were already there. All the growth is moved to the those 2 spots now, and u will have 2 branches that go up instead of one stalk. If done correctly and lst'ed u could get more yeild because more light hits the overall plant, so u didnt screw anything up, just didnt realize what u did. When doing topping u promot the plant to grow more "bushy" then "tall". So overall you'll get more consistent buds from top to bottom, opposed to have a big cola and smaller buds .

So in your opinion should I top these again or not, cause I'm debating it and don't want to make any hasty decisions and end up with less.

bump so this is what I have goin on right now. The two big ones had been flushed about a week ago because ph was too high, and yesterday I gave them fert at full strength because a day after I flushed them I gave them fert at half strength and it just seems like the leaves are showing they need more...so thats what I did. These are the pics of the leaves. Is this what they needed? or is there something else. Also the little one's nodes are coming out a little crazy and the leaves are wierd as well. I have a little fan blowing on them at all time on medium...nice and windy in there. What could cause this?:wtf:

So some of the leaves are still turning the colors of a nutrient def. plant. Could this still be the PH? Should I do another flush with ph'd water to 6.4? Flush lower? What do i do?!?!?!

So here are some pictures of the leaves. The one plant looks better than the other, and the little one, has very twisty, cupping leaves...don't know what that is either. please help!!!!

Edit: The leaves are a little droopy too, I foliar feed, a couple times a day only because it can get pretty hot in the room. Sometimes I come in and find the new growth pointed straight up.

As you can see with the one plant, i've lost quite a few leaves, mainly small ones, but when they dry up, and fall off at the touch of them, I then rub them in my hand and turn them into crumbles.
