The "secret" to Green Dragon is the decarboxylation step.
If you have failed at making GD, this is the reason. I've had varying success and finally figured out that this is the root cause of success or failure.
I used to microwave the bud and I was doing ok with that method until my microwave started malfunctioning. For some reason, the microwave does not heat like it used to and so you have to heat things for a longer period of time.
I did not account for this when I made the previous batch of GD and the results were terrible. I wasted a whole quarter. You have to MAKE SURE that the weed turns brown.
I used exactly the same weed to make a second batch, using the oven method (325 degrees for 5 minutes), and took two droppers full. I was blasted and wished I'd taken just one dropper.
Don't question the stove method. It works. Do not worry that you are vaporizing all the THC. You aren't. It will smell like crazy, but it really is the secret to awesome GD. Even if all the other steps are done perfectly, the GD will suck unless you get this part right.
Hope that helps some people!
