Reputation Mistake

Hi, I was wondering if some kindly mod with a bit of time on their hands could fix this teeny little issue that means a lot to me...

My friend wanted to give me positive rep on a post in my grow log, but the default is negative and well... he accidentally negged me.:(

I know this is not earth shattering, but can it be fixed? I really respect this poster & I'd hate to have a record of him giving me the thumbs down especially because it's in error & not a true reflection of the reputation system.

The mods may or may not fix this for you, seeing that they generally stay pretty busy around here, but just for future reference this sort of thing happens rather frequently. I don't think it affects your reputation, just lets you know if someone is genuinely pissed at you (which obviously isn't the case here). Best to just grin and bear it, and appreciate the gesture. Get more good reps and the bad one will eventually slip into oblivion. :jointsmile:

For me, even before I was a mod the default setting was positive and not negative so I don't know about that.

There's no way to fix it and besides the little green dots (or red if you are a true troll) the comments are private so if it wasn't for this post you and the repper would have been the only ones to know.

Thanks fellas, I know it was a trifling matter, that's why I couched it in those terms - no harm in asking right? And Merry! No worries! okay, mods, now I am confused, I don't think I've ever seen "Even" rep points. It is kind of a greyish color. hmmm. :stoned: and yeah, my default is positive rep ("approve comments"), too, not sure why yours wouldn't too.

I got an "even" rep once. It was from a "sorta" noob, so maybe there's a time factor or post or rep count that influences when a member's reps really start having power.

Senior members have more rep power, that's for sure...

^ cool. when i first started here i didn't know anything about all this stuff until one day i clicked on the little scales thing, just to see what it did, and this little message from some sweet sounding girl by the name of RebGirl :icon220: :cool: says something like here have a green dot hun. :D
