California to withhold a bigger chunk of paychecks -- latimes.com (http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-state-tax31-2009oct31,0,2028140.story)
Imagine if a bank had cash flow problems and decided to withdraw it's customers money and pay it back later.........their would be problems. This isn't right what Scaremento is doing to it's citizens in an already hard economic time....yet it appears from an outsider looking in....that they continue electing these thief, far left politicians. When will it stop? What else will it take? Rally round the family.....you know the rest.

Good idea....but how many hard working folks are going to choose cash only buisness's to start.....some....but enough to make the difference? I dont see it materializing into a large scale cash only buisness state. The people have to do it with their voice and their vote.
It sucks that we have turned to hating...really hating our fellow countrymen because of different ideas. The debate....arguments...and opposing opinions is what I find so amazing about america. Different people with different ideas are elected every few years........... and not at gunpoint.:stoned:
that is really f'd up. yet another reason to hate to California, eh? (just kidding). I heard this on O'reilly, too, i think he said they get it back in April or some crazy shit.
like was said above another reason to go into the cash only bus. :greenthumb:

A friend of mine was getting the princely "take-home" sum of $61 a month for caring for her stroke victim brother who has AIDS. The state just cut her "take-home" wages to $41 per month! She does his laundry, makes sure he takes his meds, takes him to the doctor, shops with him and cleans up after him. He has "gone through" the rest of his family- none of them will have him- not even his kids! He suffers from dementia and talks to himself (I've heard him arguing with himself :wtf: ) and is a total slob (his mind is going, so it's not completely his fault). When she reaches the end of her rope (pretty soon now :( ), he will have to be put in a home at state expense- if room can be found for him. She deserves way more than $41 a month for all she does!
Expect to see more homeless madmen in California.

There has got to be a healthy middle somewhere for California. A group of elected officials who can work together to straighten stuff out in Cali. But all groups will have to give a little ya know. The enviromentalists need to work with the buisness leaders to form sensible policies that let buisness grow and have low impact on mama earth. If buisness keeps fleeing the high enviro & property taxes in Cali.....the problems will only magnify. Nevada is close....I know Cali residents see those Nevada ads on their local tv.

they should be able to supplement the the deficit with money from everyone in the state thats makes more than 100,000 a year and politicians should have to give 50% of their total worth over 250,000

Haha, like that would ever happen! Who do you think run this place? And who makes the loopholes in the laws so that they can exploit this stuff?

Lol for real! I've met some good politicians and some bad, they're representative of our society afterall...There's a crazy senator in my state that actually tried a year or two ago to make it a law that teachers can carry guns in school in case of any school shootings so they'd be prepared! In a nation with ever-dwindling resources going towards education, some teachers aren't even certified or thoroughly(sp?) checked and are teaching our future generation! Now some nutjob wants to arm them?

i think new orleans is the murder cap because of the 60 day murder
i.e. they can only hold you on suspicion of murder for 60 days then they have to release

Generalizing everyone in one state based on a stereotype, how open minded of you.
However, here's a few FACTS you might want to think about;
Our state may be executing people who've committed such heinous crimes such as murdering children after they've raped them and senior citizens minding their own business on the way to the grocery store, etc... I guess that offends you somehow. California instead has early release for its offenders. Why? Because its bankrupt!
When the state may be in the position that it has to borrow money from the rest of the nation, it becomes our business. The California government is seizing tax money to supposedly be repayed at a later date WITHOUT even asking its citizens because it can't even make payroll!
Texas isn't bankrupt and operates in the black EVERY year, with over 2500 people from California moving here EVERYDAY, people in my complex are from New York, Virginia, California, New Jersey, and Michigan because they can't find any job in those states and they're economic disasters.
Texas operates on its own electrical grid with huge growth in wind powered electricity taking place. The excess electricity is sold to other states including California because the "not in my back yard" people won't allow further growth or expansion of power plants in their states.
California's government has not operated in the black since Ronald Reagan was it's governor, the only time it did so during the last half of the past century.
What insurance you're speaking of I'm not sure of but last time I checked it was not in either the United States or State Constitution to provide health insurance to everyone just because. BTW Socialized Medicine has never worked successfully in any country without a staggering increase in taxes and a huge decrease in quality of service. You're about to experience that first hand.
Last time I checked rednecks were not restricted to any particular state but more or less referred to a lifestyle and way of living. I've met my fair share of California rednecks too.
Respectfully, I lived in California for several years, have no issue with the state or its people, its a really beautiful place with an incredible history. I was even thinking about visiting this coming summer.
Texas state law is that ALL teachers, substitutes, and school workers undergo a background check for all criminal activity.
Texas isn't all that bad, the people are nice as hell, and there is the very big possibility that MJ issues will be on the ballot this coming year. With the exception of the MJ laws here, I wouldn't change anything else.
Respectfully, if the best you can do is name call and point out skewed facts and socialist talking points, then you're not really contributing anything to a forum designed for the intelligent discussion amongst adults who have a common belief in our plant and medicine. You should be part of the solution, not the problem.

good post, but I have to ask where do you get your numbers?? 2500 people a day.. ohh and think you mistyped something too heh..threw me off for a second trying to follow. as far as the poster this was directed at, you waste your words on him, i think he was just throwing something shiney out for some monkeys to grab onto, or he really is that far out in the atmosphere ;) either way, not worth it :D
not trying to get take sides here or anything but point of info . . Californian's pay MUCH more in federal taxes than they receive back from the federal gov't. So, one quick easy way for Cali to solve all its financial problems would be to correct that.
