from Westword:
Update: The Board of Health meeting on medical-marijuana - Denver News - The Latest Word (http://blogs.westword.com/latestword/2009/11/_inside_the_board_of.php)

Update, 11:44 a.m. It's all over, but not without a fight.

The meeting began at 11:30 a.m., when board of health members began discussing a wording change, says Westword staffer Joel Warner, who was inside the hearing. Then they voted unanimously to do so.

But when they announced that they wouldn't be taking public comment, the meeting quickly devolved into a shouting match between attorney and medical marijuana advocate Rob Corry and Glenn Schlabs, the chairman of the Board of Health, who was not at the meeting, but on the phone via teleconference.

Corry eventually backed off when Schlabs told him he was out of order and police began to walk toward him. Corry, who was soon surrounded by TV cameras, eventually declared the entire proceeding illegal and told Schlabs he would see him in court.

The meeting adjourned at 11:38, but most of the crowd remained.

Stay tuned to the Latest Word for analysis from Warner this afternoon.

The meeting lasted 8 minutes? Seems like they all must of had their minds made up before hand.

good question!

imo, someone is gonna get busted and it will play out in the courts. whoever does the busting, is going to be embarrassed. the momentum in the community is big.

Something as simple as educational services would suffice to be providing 'other' services. This could be done via a website offered by the dispensary. Articles about ailments and related strains, how to cook, local events, links out to other wellness services and a Q&A place where patients could ask public or private questions of the caregiver/dispensary. This could be a service to dispensaries where other providers fill the educational aspect, so dispensary owners don't need to do it themselves...

They've not provided enough guidance as to what caregiver services are for anything to not be enough, nor has the amendment listed anything... The next step could be relationship management. But really, I think this will go to the Court in short order, and the public will not be pleased.

I'm beginning to thing Stan Garnett would be a great replacement for Suthers. We need to use our numbers to let our voices be heard in the public forum. This is complete bs, and we need legislative help. Hopefully they can hold back the dogs until that has the chance to happen... What they are forcing is closer relationships in the MMJ community, and that... will only make us closer and stronger as a political force.

If I was a cop, I'd be pretty hesitant to put much effort into any pot case. With this latest foray by the dept of health into rulemaking, the law in Colorado re possession of mj is so vague and unsettled, barring a trip to the local elementary school to offload a couple lbs. I don't see any way to pass constitutional muster with any charges against anyone with a license. I'm being facetious of course, but from either side, it's pretty hard to know what the law really is.

no they are using this "closer relationship" just to get there foot in the door to start trying to break us down bit by bit.they don't care how close a caregiver is to his patient.they just want to use that as an excuse to chop the law to bits just u watch.

I think you assume far too much competence on the part of government. They don't know what the hell they are doing, let alone have a plan.

we'll see. looks like an idea similar to what I mentioned is being tried by the Cannabis Therapy Institute. See - Cannabis Therapy Institutue - Medical Cannabis (Marijuana) Research, Education and Advocacy in Colorado (http://www.cannabistherapyinstitute.com/patientservices/index.html)

I am one of those people who believe the government is incompetent and corrupt, and they accomplish more by unintended consequences than anything they intend. Go read some Mises or Hayek and get back to me. Haven't been to prison yet, or even jail, or even arrested! Prisons are full of stupid people and evil people and some who are both. Only a very few who are neither.

so you just think that it's because there so dumb they only by accident fuck shit up and control people and pass bills to take your rights away? like the new health bill that just passed?

Banning industry practices
The legislation would require most Americans to carry insurance and provide federal subsidies to those who otherwise could not afford it. Large companies would have to offer coverage to their employees. Both consumers and companies would be slapped with penalties if they defied the government's mandates

thats just 1 of the fucked up things in the bill.accident i think not.they know what they are doing to a tee.

that explains a lot! yes, the government is incompetent, intrusive, blah, blah, blah, but if you think they pulled off 9/11 then you are retarded! sorry to use that language, but it's true...

there are people who hate america more than the us government ya know, like the people from the region we've been fuckin' with for 50+ years. in fact, the us government doesn't hate america at all... they just don't care about it... most of the politicians are in politics for themselves, so america is second fiddle.

anyway, i hope you're not one of those people whose been tricked into voting against their own interests. can you tell me what the fuck is so bad about being forced to have healthcare? you need it, and you're gonna get it anyway! if you didn't have a job, you probably couldn't get insurance these days... because health insurance companies operate based on profit and not on the well-being of the people. doesn't that bother you at all? there's a huge conflict of interest there. insurance companies will not give you coverage if you have a pre-existing condition... and they consider things like back pain, headaches, pregnancy, etc. as pre-existing conditions.

good luck! yeah, but don't vote for non-profit government healthcare that's out to help people... because that would undermine the insurance companies efforts to make fuckin' ridiculous monopolistic profits at the expense of the health of our country.

oh no, you say, my freedom is being taken away! you've been listening to too much glenn beck, master faggot. last time i checked, i'm pretty much free to do whatever the fuck i want, moreso than any other country in the world.

Ok, you're obviously not going to be rational on this and that's ok because there aren't any rational 9/11 conspirators. I expected that.

WTC 7 experienced what's known as a progressive collapse. When 1 member (beam, column, etc) fails, higher strains and stresses are introduced in other members. This causes more members to fail until it cascades and the whole building comes down.

From what I've read, there was a 10-story gash in the building that extended to 25% the depth of the building. That's huge! There was tons of structural damage from falling debris, and there were fires burning all day inside. There was no firefighting inside Building 7. So, yeah, that's enough to bring it down.

Why is it so hard to believe that they just initially underestimated the damage in that building on the morning of the 11th? Then it slowly came down without anyone realizing that is was happening.

And how many other things could a firefighter be referring to when he says, "Let's pull it"? ... A shitload.

And yes, I bet there was a lot of legitimate talk of demoing the bldg. But, they were probably considering it as an option to prevent further casualties from unexpected collapse. So, I bet there was a lot of confusion on the ground as to whether the controlled demo was actually carried out or whether it fell.

I don't know. I'm gonna drop it now. If you had more compelling evidence I'd be more inclined to argue my point. I think the evidence speaks for itself. I have a formal education in this kind of shit and it makes complete sense to me.
