Hey there folks,

I'm working on my setup, and I'm leaning towards getting a 4" inline exhaust fan to blow from the top of my grow closet (area where the HPS is gonna be hung up). I often use little carbon filters (just like pieces of filter) on my compost caddy thing to reduce the odor in my kitchen. Would placing or fixing a couple of these right before the exhaust fan do anything for odor control? I'm not that worried about odor, as this grow will be less than three plants on the second floor of a family house in which everyone likes weed, in a very weed friendly city in a pro-pot state. So a little smell can't hurt too much. But would a small filter like this do anything? I'm wary of buying a big complicated expensive carbon filter from a garden store. Thanks for any advice.

I doubt the little filter squares would have any noticeable impact in odor, if they do, it will be short-lived.

Check out this link.

I made one of these, modified slightly, for about $50. When the Activated Carbon loses its effectiveness, the carbon can be replaced for about $15. It works very well.

I first tried a product called ODOR-SOCK. It's a fabric type of carbon filter for can-type fans. it worked very well at first, but would lose effectiveness in about a month. :wtf: I wouldn't recommend it.

PS: "Just a couple plants" can be *pretty* stinky. :)

dude that looks awesome. I'm gonna try to figure that out too if things get stinky come flowering time. Thanks much for that link!
