What to veg with??

I have a large assortment of lights and i know its going to cost more to run them rather then cfl but i know MH and HPS and all that is should build a stronger plantstructure eh? Anyways what im doing here is a 10-12 plant grow we got 12 germinating at the moment the grow space is about 6ft long and 3ft wide buy like 10 tall or so. Im curious to know what i should use for Vegging my places? I do have access to low watt MH and HPS also for a price.
What i currently have is
400w MH, 400w MV, 1000w Dual spec Hortilux MH, 600w Hortilux HPS bulb.
These are what i have avalible to me to use for veg. Any input would be more then helpful. Or should i go like 250w MH? or something low to veg?

ditch the mercury vapor, use both the metal halides for veg, and switch in the hps and 100w MH for bloom

i can only run 1 MH and 1 HPS at a time i got a 1k watt MH would that be too much for veg or should i rock the 400W for veg should be around 10 plants

i can run a MH and a HPS at the same time off my single ballast

If you have the means to keep a 1k MH cool, then by all means use it! An MH is going to give you shorter nodes, which helps if space becomes an issue. If you're going to veg ten plants or more, the more light you can get to the leaves the better. And not quite sure what you meant in your last post, but I wouldn't recommend trying to run two bulbs off one ballast. You should also only use the type of bulb that is specified for your ballast... i.e. don't stick a 1kW bulb in a 250W ballast, even if the sockets match up. It won't work and could start a fire.

also if using the 1000 during veg your going to get a tremendous amount of brances and potential bud sites when u go to switch to 12/12.the more light the better.i usually start with a 2x4 flourescent setup with natural sunshine bulbs and then switch 2 a 600 mh.this time i have only used the flouros and they are half the size they should be and growth is a lot slower than when i use my 600.
