"And rightfully so, the dispensary operators are respectable members of our community who when afforded the opportunity by the city council to meet a strong demand, invested a lot of time and money in opening these dispensaries. They didnā??t do so illegally or with mal intent. To attempt to penalize them now without genuine due process, just to cover up for its own mistakes is not only adherently wrong but uneconomical."

good point.

"So who will this crackdown really help? Well, there is of course the city council members who will see a problem they created go away. But there is a more sinister answer. The legalized sale and distribution of medical marijuana in California and other States has profoundly impacted and damaged the Mexican drug cartels. A major source of their revenue has been greatly reduced. To turn back the clock will simply boost their profits and empower them further. This will impact our communities and law enforcement resources. "

do you think he just pulled that out of his arse? (my apologize xkal, if you wrote this) If this could be documented and quantified, I would think that would be a make a strong case against the any "crack downs" or whatever.

"In fact, the Obama administration, in issuing its guidelines Monday, noted that one of their priorities is countering the spread of violent Mexican drug cartels, which use the vast profits from their marijuana sales in the United States to support other criminal activities."

another good point. We are all on the same team here, we all have the same goals, to end the violence of cannabis prohibition in America.

I wouldn't say the Cartels are "profoundly" impacted by the current legalization of cannabis for medical purposes but I doubt it made them very happy. No doubt the cartels are losing some money.

Now full legalization would REALLY hurt these predatory cartel a-holes.

(Hell, full legalization would send many of the cartel members back to the streets making money with their organ grinders and pet monkeys).

yeah, that is what I would have thought, too. It is interesting how this is all playing out right now.

and, Yes!, fully legal cannabis in any part of California will be, one would hope, the beginning of the end of the violence associated with cannabis prohibition in America. no doubt, hard drugs will still exist and there will still be someone to supply that demand, but at least cannabis will be out of the game. :greenthumb:
