I just got my MM card and I would like to learn to grow using hydroponics. Can anyone recommend a basic system? I have grown outdoors very basically and absolutely love it! I would like to go to the next level. Any other advice would be much appreciated. I get overwhelmed when reading about all of the things to do. Thanks!

Come on in the water is fine !

Before anyone can suggest something tell us about your space and a budget. Is this just for your medical needs ?

Look through the grow logs and see what you might like.

Many here to help you setup and spend some money.

if your new u should try and look what type of set up your looking to go with. DWC, ebb and flow or ebb and grow, or the dripper. i have dwc and ebb and flow and i think the ebb and flow is way eazyer because i only have to change water once a week. the dwc i gotta top it everyday because the water evaporate fast from the 1k light. if u build one it will save u way more money and u will learn and understand how it work. i build one for 20 dollar and it hold 6, 5inch circle net pot. so can u. :rasta:

Honestly, do some research on what types of hydro set ups there are, You should read up as much as you can about lights, grow medium, nutrients, PH + PPM meters, Possible grow boxes. You're going to be over whelmed and confused and would take some one an entire day to explain hydro to you on here.
I prefer the drip method of hydro personally, using small rockwool to start the the seedlings and then hydroton to support the rockwhool in a 4in net pot. I use organic (botonicare products) there is a sticky in here that is awsome for new growers to use with there products.
You need to run a PH of 5.4-5.9 and watch it closely, its pretty strait forward really.
You can go the expensive route if u just want to get things up and running, or u can make something but that requires some serious creativity and research, People on here do some very cools things, this size of your set up is going to impact what kind of hydro system u want, The bigger the set up, you wouldnt want to do a strait DWC or Ebb and flow, as its very time consuming to manage. You're looking for something efficient, and is easy to manage, since drippers or NFT use small amounts of water for the roots but they use recirculation, less water is needed. But like i said read up on the systems and take into account how much your going to grow, look around and see if there are some systems that you are interested in come back and we'll let u know if its good, and even make one for a 1/4 of the price.
