A friend of mine advises he got a new defendant on his probation case load who purchased 2.5 pounds of high grade kush from a So Cal medical cannabis dispensary through a carded friend for, get this, 5k a pound! The kid got busted during a car stop in Arizona taking the stash home to Bullhead City where he maintains he can sell at 600 bucks an ounce.

I personally can't believe people would pay 600 bucks an oz but then I'm not there so I don't really know.

I gotta say though, the greedy dispensaries in Kali selling like that need to stop it. They're hurting everyone in the medical marijuana community by making us look like a bunch of drug dealers. Of course it could be the dispensary didn't know and the "carded friend" was just an a-hole lookin to make a few bucks.

I guess there is nothing legit dispensaries can do to stop the practice.

Should we, or the govt?
YET, on the flip side, some voice anger when they see the law in Kali step in and stop a business on the grounds that an op is being "greedy" or acting in an otherwise illegal way as they call it and what-not(should we be angry when they raid the "bad" ones?)(i say yeah though,kinda:wtf::wtf::wtf:). But pertaining to your statement, I feel it is good to hear this type of tone within our community because the LAW is trying to do exactly this, what YOU are saying...in a way.
the latter part of your statement could be true indeed, there is no way to know what one is doing after obtaining a MM card..an a-hole indeed:)

If cannabis were legalized federally, most folks would grow a few plants and the price of cannabis would drop greatly. Why buy, when you can grow?

I recently bought some low grade ginseng powder for $30 a pound (think schwag). Ginseng is hard to grow except in certain areas- it's finicky about soil conditions. It takes years to grow a crop. Each plant produces a few ounces of dried roots.

This summer I bought tomatoes for 79 cents a pound. Tomatoes are a tender annual. Each plant produces a few pounds of tomatoes if treated well.

Compare that with cannabis. It's a hardy weed! It's an annual. A single plant can produce a pound or more under reasonable outdoor conditions. Price 5K a pound!

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THIS PICTURE??? :wtf:

The price of cannabis has been artificially and deliberately inflated and it will remain so until we all DEMAND legalization! Become an activist and stop this stupidity!

I remember FAT $10 ounces! I remember $65 kilos!

Let's get back some sanity when it comes to prices!

And reselling MMJ just isn't cool!

I'm in total agreement with you, granny. And yeah, I remember good old ten dollar lids too! And five dollar Thai Sticks and grams of hash too!!!

There are generally such limits on daily purchases down here too. He claimed that his carded friend was an old trusted friend of the dispensary owner.

I have a friend who works for a installation company here in TX. and does alot of work in L.A., who has a script (easily obtained) and mails his wife back an oz. or 2 a month when he travels there. My question for all you Cali guys is this- Is that a problem with the movement? Dr.'s handing out scripts to everyone under the moon and having bad intention folks in these dispensarys alongside true sick people in need of help? Have their been troubles with this?

That kind of thing would not happen if the dispensary were following state regs.

By law it's usually illegal to posess more than 8oz of MMJ in CA so if the dispensary knowingly sold someone a kilo then they were the ones in violation of the law...the kid that bought it was just being stupid and greedy and deserved what he got. Too bad no recourse can be taken against the violating dispensary - because THAT is what's bad for the movement.

Every medicine out there has been pushed on the streets. All it takes is a Drug Czar to make policiy and everyone gets it or no one gets it.

Does anyone remember my precious Qualudes. All gone because of this very problem. And any thing else that makes it to the street big time.

This seems like the guy's that are making the street bucks want to keep making them. Flood the streets to keep it illeagle and keep prices up. Make it look like a bad social problem.

The clubs and dispenseries are not doing their job and keeping it off the street. Hell I thought it was on the street first. LOL

OH what troubled times we live in.
