Good commercial type area to grow?

HI all, living in California here, we currently have a medicinal marijuana law that allows cultivation of a few plants.

There is a proposition on the ballot likely for this coming year, which would completely legalize marijuana in Cali (no stops).

I was just doing a bit of thinking, and decided to brainstorm a bit here, but say if one wanted to go into serious commercial growing, not worrying about legalities (assuming the prop passes), what would be the best area to grow commercially?

I was thinking of some possibilities,

an office space: might not do well with humidity and carpets, and may not have access to water

residential house: may not be ideal for large scale operation, and rooms/structure layout makes things confusing for reproducable operation

storage unit: ok, this is a bad idea

commercial warehouse: ceilings may be really high, may not have good access to water




so, I wanted to ask here, hypothetically of course, if say marijuana was legalized tomorrow and you wanted to go into large scale production, what would be the optimal location to do so? I'm thinking indoor growing for security and quality control mostly. ok, thanks!

Widespread legalisation will drop the price of bud to the basement. ATM prices are high because a grey/black market is under the control of a relatively small number of sellers and customers have little choice but to buy at the sellers asking price.

In a legal marketplace the number of sellers increases and balance of power shifts to favour the buyer because they have more opportunity to compare the products of different sellers and then choose where to spend their money. Price cutting is one of the results of sellers having to do something to entice buyers to choose their products over that of a competitor.

The pro buyer effect of competition isn't static, as the price for cannabis products drops, less efficient sellers will leave the marketplace while others will merge into larger organisations that can still turn a profit by utilising economies of scale. Eventually the competitive market will transform into an oligopoly, where most of the bulk of product comes from a few very large sellers with independent producers relegated to peripheral or niche markets where economies of scale have less impact.

Anybody dreaming of being a weed baron once it's legal will need to factor market effects into the equation.

when we get legal---growing inside will end up costing u more than your product would be worth essentially.plus i have this really big fear that i know will come true.amature gardens are going to spring up in every back yard.lets say 7 out of 10 house on a block.how many of those people are going 2 pull there males.or always being on the look out for new pollin sacks.the wind pics up and every ones garden will be destroyed.and there will be limits on what we can posses,right now from what i have read it will be no more than 1 oz per person and a garden canopy not to exceed 25 sq.ft .the new laws will not affect current mmj patients limits and may only increase them.im wondering what the fines would be for going over your limits once it is legal?

The economics aside, I'd be looking for a large "fall out" shelter. They can be secured real easy and come equiped with a good air exchange system.

Works for smaller grows too.:D
