Do i think life exists elsewhere in the universe? Yes. The odds are astronomically (pun intended) in favor of life having developed on other planets.
However, that doesn't mean that we are going to be making contact anytime soon or ever at all. Ever heard of the (I think its called) vast jungle theory?
There is a school of thought among cosmologists that sees the universe as an unimaginably large jungle. In the jungle there are all types of plants some are huge some small some have been growing for hundreds of years some just sprouted up over night. All these plants are different in a thousand different ways and, like the life that exists in the cosmos, most are unaware of the existence of others. Why, for example, would a towering and ancient tree pay any notice to the tiny crop of moss growing on a small rock nearby?
Like the tree some civilizations out in the vast expanse of space may be so far beyond us that we go unnoticed. The same way you don't really notice the lichen that grows on the rocks alongside the trail you are hiking on.

It's highly probable that there is other life in the universe besides that found on our planet. It's also probable that other races have developed the same curious nature and desire to explore that we have. Think about it this way, Humans don't seem to fit into the puzzle that is mother nature on planet earth. Every organism on this earth are all connected in a vast grid of relationships, or Symbiosis...

this is true. the more advanced we become technologically, or even chronologically (the longer we're around) the more detached we make ourselves from the planet and the natural order of things. i'd be a hypocrite to say i'm not the same, seeing as how i'm currently typing on a computer to people in cyberspace, potentially thousands of miles away.
they've supposedly found an area in our galaxy that can be looked beyond, and in this area they've seen hundreds of other galaxies; a galaxy, as we know, being comprised of hundreds of thousands of stars.
so the odds of life being out there is extremely high.

i had an uncle who passed a couple years ago but he was a research scientist for the goverment. back in the 70's when one of the space capsules returned to earth they found a small micro organism on the outside of the craft. his job at one time was to kill this thing that matched no life form on earth. extreme cold did not hurt and neither did extreme heat. not sayin it was from space but nobody knew where the thing came from or how it came to be on the space capsule. it may have come from the upper atmospher or even the ocean.but who knows.

I'm glad you brought this up. There are many theories of various races living underground and underwater. I read somewhere that we know more about the surface of the moon than we do about the Deep Sea.

In fact, I tend to believe our origins came from an extra-terrestrial source, by intelligent design. I hate to cite Sitchen, because his writings are somewhat outlandish. But the theory is compelling. That humans as a race were genetically engineered as a slave race for the extra-terrestrials. Which could make sense, since as I mentioned earlier in this thread, we are not part of mother nature's intricate grid. We're just not. They say we're 'animals', but there's something that profoundly sets us apart.

According to the Hopi Indians of Arizona, a people they called their "Snake Brothers" built and occupied underground cities. "Snake" could be a reference to the reptilian race...
