Okay, So I tried to post this in the basic growing thread but it won't let me post pictures. (I'm a newb here... despite my join date) So here's my pictures starting with them as babies. I had to let my friend babysit them for about 3 weeks as I moved into a new apartment, so the short one was supposed to be a LST experiment for me but my friend never helped it out so it just has a curvy stem at the bottom. I'm using 100 watt /23w CFLs, I need to get more light but I was thinking of getting a 150w HPS light (my closet is so small). Let me know what you think! thanks :D

Also I'm pretty sure the smaller seedling in the left bottom corner is my dark green female (more pics in next post)

If you can just get bigger CFL's that might be a big help. I use soft white even for veg because of the amount of light they put out, my plants veg nice and bushy. Home Depot has the best CFL selection I think. Up to 65w for $15. Ya, I've been on here a while but have not done much posting either. Learned a lot from the FAQ. I veg with CFL's and folwer with hps. Although start of this run I did use an MH bulb for about the first 2 weeks of 12/12. Plants look nice and green though. I top mine early and do it a couple times in the time they veg. I seem to get nice bushy plants that way. Good luck with the grow.

So, do you think it would be worth it for me to just go and order that 150w HPS light for 85 bucks instead of buying 4-5 65w CFLs for 15 ea? That's my main decision struggle, lol. (I'm moderately poor)

also, going to start the bat guano + molasses today or tomorrow. Gotta find the best recipe though. Thanks for the tips, I love 'em :)

I think you would have better stalk and stem in veg with the CFL's maybe. But probably better bud with the HPS. Mine seen to do really well with them. If money is an issue (i've been there myself a few times) you can start cheaper with just a couple smaller CFL's and buy more as they grow. Use them on the sides of the plant to help to get better light to the lower branches I guess it could also depend on what you plan to do. How many plants and such. Get the CFL's now and the hps later. You can always use the CFL's again and have a flower area and veg area. I'll try to post a couple pics of one of my veg areas.

I know what you mean about keeping track of time. I try to most times only because there have been times I wished I had. Plants look pretty good though. I do see some burnt tips on one at least.

You will not get good yield without powerful lighting. Flourscents are good for early veg growth but you need to get at leist a 400watt high pressure sodium (HPS) for bigger and more flowering. Your plants appear to be stretching due to lack of light. They seem healthy otherwise. Lighting appears to be your problem here. You will be disappointed in the yeild unless you invest in good lighting system. 400w runs me about $40 per month to run 12 hours each day.

Hey, I'm still growing! I have one plant that looks remotely close to being done, and the other three still have a LOT of white hairs. Here's a few pics of Margaret, my babygirl. I'm thinking she's an indica type, yes? I have no idea. I also got a 300w = 62w CFL for the room, it's real nice. I'm going to take it off margaret and put it on another girl once marge is done. I'm thinking I have a few days left. These pics are from yesterday and the day before. Oh and I'm pretty sure the last picture is from a different plant.

i say get a 90watt LED ufo in that space or better yet like 180watt led panel, i recently ordered one (ufo) and they are great. you get alot thicker buds and alot less internode spacing. your plants look really stretched no offence.
the 90watt leds a bit spendy $200, but they replace a 400-600 watt hid lamp and they will pay for themselves though in the electric bill compared to the other lamps. You get decent yeilds, way better than your getting now.

your are looking decent for what your using, keep up the good work on that point

I did some research myself on the led's a while back when I was ready to add more lighting. From what I saw the led lights were not that good yet. So I never tried them.

looking good alisha:thumbsup: keep it up , you must have green fingers...

but them buds will definitely fatten up even with a 150w hps...

i run 600 watts usually and a few fans and the spike is very small.
