Built this system for a friend.
System was build with cost and efficiency in mind
Total system cost was $100.
We did have the cabinet (steel), bathroom fan (nu tone $80 new) and the 4 inch intake computer dayton fan. I also let his use my ferts, ppm meter and ph meter I had extra lying around.
What you are missing...
Plugs are located behind the boxes outside of the cab and the exhaust vents out of a small top window in the basement. We did make a plate and flange to seal the 4 inch vent hose to the window and placed a dryer vent cover on the outside.
The goal was to produce 3-4 oz dried.
Total lumens are 20,000 (12 x26 Watt CFLs) 10 2700k and 2 6500K in the middle. Home Depot now sells 12 packs of 100w equivalent (26w) cfls for $24 usd.
Hydro dwc w/ 4 F1 Blue Apollo Joeys Weed clones. Ph 5.8 full Botanicare line with hydroplex. Temps ran 82 in the hot summer basement which was acceptable.
Pictures were taken during the flush (8th week) Plants ran a total of 9 weeks flowering due to vacation. 8 weeks should be enough.

Since this is my friends first time I didn't expect him to hit maximum. With that said, from the pics and quality, he did a fantastic job. I have not weighed the yield, its on day 4 of drying, but I am thinking 3 oz will be the number.

Improvements...

A larger dwc tub. The root mass was not a problem, but the solution could only top 3.5 gallons max at a time. Too many refills...so a larger tub will be nice. Since winter is coming the basement will get cold. A Root matt heater will likely be needed and maybe since the temps will be lower, a few more cfl's.

Nice job

I have been experimenting with CFL's during flower. Looks like they are great for AF genetics, the jury is still out on Sativa dom strains.

restrictions on height would be the dominate factor with a sativa. I think I can push .6g/w with this cab.

A grow that surpassed the .5 g/watt and a few loyal reply's? Room to push for more and no interest? $200.00 total supply list, and could be had for cheaper with 5.23 oz of yield. Do I need to add an LED light?
