View Full Version : Where should I go?

Hey everyone, I'm ready to get my MMJ card and I was wondering if you all had any thoughts as to where I should go to meet up with a doctor? I know there are a few places that have doctors on hand, and while they may cost a few bucks more, this appeals to me as I don't have a regular doc. I have a TON of documented medical issues and I have a good amount of paperwork to back it up with, so I'm not anticipating any problems there.
I'm in NW Metro about 20 minutes from Boulder, but I'm happy to travel to get to the right place.
Blessings.

Come on guys, nobody has anything to say here? There's a ton of options in the Westword, but I want to give my business to somebody who deserves it.

The problem, Steve, is that usually the majority of people only see one doctor, and have no other experiences to compare with. I went to Peace In Medicine and they made themselves my caregiver without my knowledge and I didn't get any perks. The doctor didn't seem to give a shit and probably thought I was faking just to score weed. Since I have not been anywhere else, I cannot give any recommendations. I would imagine many others feel like me.
At some point, you're just going to have to pick one. Go through a respectable Dispensary and ask them for guidance. Find a respectable Dispensary by sifting through the reviews on this forum. Unfortunately there's no user-submitted review sites up right now that I know of. Good luck!

Thanks Diet. I guess that's just going to be the way that it is. Stupid ideals ;)

DietBlode you can head over to allmmj(.)com as they have a user review section. Its brand new so there are only a couple of reviews so far but its a start.
Steve hit up the same web site as there are several places that have listed in their classifieds that do examinations weekly. Craigslist also has a great number of places that have docs availble as well.

A couple guys I know have been to delta 9 and they had a great and very easy experience getting their cards there. I think they require you to list them as a caregiver but thats easy to change after the initial visit.

I do believe a local MMJ user has a blog site up for reviews and such.
Check out the Strain Man. :hippy:

i don't think there are many doctor's handing out mmj cards that you would actually want as your primary care physician if you know what i mean.

I went to Green Medicals. Dispensary sucks, but the doctor approval deal was a joke. Basically guaranteed without paperwork if you even have a splinter! No, seriously though, super easy. I had actual records unlike everyone else, so it was even easier for me to get through the process.
303-495-5000 I think is the number. They have a doc everyday but sunday I think. 107th and washington.

I went to Relaxed Clairity in Broomfield. (970-412-5955) I'm pretty sure they only run it on Saturday and Mondays though. There is NO dispensary there. Just the Doctor and a few other support people.

I had mine done at Greenleaf Farmacy in Boulder. Very fair price - free but you would need to make them your primary for 1 month minimum. I'm not sure if they are still doing this program it was only on Sundays. Doctor was very professional, went over my medical records very carefully, asked key questions and made some suggestions. Follow up appointment is again included as 1st visit.

same here, same thoughts...
Getting the card was an absolute joke, over 100 people, half of them with their hats turned to the side, and wearing a gangload of gold jewelry... money is collected BEFORE you see the "physician"...besides the point.
the dispensary itself at Green Medical (ive been to the location in Northglenn and Dacono) is the worst Ive been to.. reminds me of a headshop, and is definitely the last place I would recommend to any legitimate MMJ holder. My Uncle is 65 years old with MS, he wouldnt step foot in a trashy place like that.. they definitely cater to the 25 and under crowd

Yep, exactly the same. Paying up front is no big deal, even my primary care physician does that nowdays. The so called doctor was an old blonde hippy woman. It was such a joke in fact, that I was worried about not getting my card back before the place gets shut down. There were definitely a few others like myself who genuinely needed to be there, but the other 40 people in the lobby were just wanting to sign up for legal weed. I don't necessarily agree or disagree with them for being there. But overall the experience was quite shady.

I'm afraid that it's only going to be a matter of time before some news agency, anyone from 9 News to a "Dateline" type of show, goes undercover with a camera and the whole world sees a "doctor" not even listening as the reporter tells him that he needs a card due to headaches and he gets it no questions asked.
When they do this kind of stuff, to get that "shock factor" that the audience likes, they'll do something like have a 17 year old girl use a crappy fake ID and type up her own "medical reports" that use a bunch of sayings like, "Lindsay has narcoplasty" and "Her condition has been caused by too much rainbow surfing" to make it look all the more shocking.
And so it goes. The bottom line is that the MJ Hater lobby gets smaller by the day, while the "let's be real about MJ" crowd grows. It might be a setback, but if we can't get it legalized for a while, I'd rather it be cleaned up, even though I despise government interference in our lives. As it is, I feel like it's a shady sham and a joke that doesn't help the cause. But it's really a moot point, we have the numbers and production capability to do what we want, and it's just barely the start. They'll never stop the movement, and they know it.
Someday we'll look back in our old age, and our grandchildren will ask us about when people went to prison, sometimes for LIFE, for having a plant on them.
So what's more Shady I ask, the fact that people are in prison, tens of thousands of lives RUINED due to Evil MJ Drug Laws, or a doctor, who most likely blazes up and knows there is nothing to fear from the plant, spewing out MMJ cards like a broken slot machine run amok?
