Hey yall, Im a first time grower...we have 2 females, both about 6ft tall, budding like crazy all over! Im very proud of my ladies!!:)

I am pretty sure they are a sativa strain...of what exactly I do not know. I got the seeds from a local grower who usually has only sensimilla but occasionally he will get a few seeds. Great bud nonetheless.

As a first time grower, I know the basics of when to harvest, but everyday my girls look better and better and I just want to make sure I do not harvest before they reach their maximum potency. I attached a few pictures for you all to take a look at, and hopefully someone can guide me in the right direction with some good advice.

Hope you like the pics as much as I do!!

By looking at the trichromes the best i could in the picture, they all still seem to be clear or cloudy. Looks like a few more weeks at least.

Grab a x5 magnifying lens/glass if you have you have sharp eyes, but most prefer a x20.

I cant for the life of me remember where I found this post explaining trich coloring to type of high,so hopefully im right:
100% milky is a more motivating, uplifting head high
100% clear is a pretty alright smoke but not what you want
25% amber is a pretty good body high,at this point you want to harvest right away as the thc is just degrading and losing potency.

Plus how long have they been in flowering?

let those things fatten up a bit too, your harvest will be tiny if those are the nugs your cut.....

Are those outdoors? You posted this in the Indoor section... :wtf:

Looks to me like they are in the beginning stages of flowering. I only grow indica strains, but mine usually look like that at about 2 weeks in, meaning you probably have a couple months left at least if they are sativa.

If you cut them now, you will have next to nothing for a yield. The buds lose a lot of mass during the drying process, and from the looks of your pics, you will end up with sticks and a couple puny calyxes per bud site if you harvest at this point. Wait it out for several more weeks, you will be much more satisfied.

...col/of hears?:wtf:
Hairs (pistils) are not an indicator of plant maturity. The trichomes are. (the sticky, sappy stuff coming out of the mature plants' leaf pores)

Approximate progression and effects of trichome maturity:
Clear trichomes - Underdeveloped. Prone to headaches. Short-lived effects.
Milky trichs - Getting to be mature - Heady effects. Not yet a body buzz, but longer lasting.
Mostly milky with some rusty trichs - Mature - Good luck getting off the couch for a while. Usually best for meds. Explosive once inhaled.
Mostly rusty trichs - Overmature - effects and flavors start degrading as the plant dies. (akin to perfumed straw)

ugabud420: You've got a month to go, minimum.

If you plan ahead, sativa dom's are not a problem indoors. Pure sativa's are a bitch though, and plenty of headroom is necessary.

does any1 no this strain... and it was my first growEvidentally it's ok bagseed.

But, is there any chance of getting you to stop hijacking other member's threads to repeatedly ask this same question? If strain name wasn't important when you planted the seeds, what makes it so important to interrupt other's posts now? If there is no answer to your own post, after a reasonable time, bump it. Someone usually comes along and feels the need to answer.

Since the quality isn't in the name, (it's in the genetics) and there is nobody on Earth that can distinguish a strain by photo's alone, name it whatever you like. If you like the results from this plant, name it. If you don't like the results, purchase from a reputible breeder, and know exactly what you are buying.
