What up everyone! Today is a great day! My plan is to have clones in my bucket by tonight. This is my first grow...I am a MJ card holder and am just trying to get some quality meds out of two plants. I included some pictures of my room to hopefully get some feedback. I know my room is not complete, as evident by the mylar and ventilation missing but hopefully you have a general idea. I also have one question..I included a pic of my can fan on an aluminum stand. Could I run that as pictures or does it have to be mounted on the ceiling? Thanks for the input if everything goes as planned I will update tonight with pictures. Happy smokin
I'll post the specs later when all is up im planning on doing a log for ya'll

I dont know how I attached that last photo but I cant seem to do it again. Anyways, that pic is of my canfan on an aluminum stand. Can I leave it like that and run the venting from there to my light off to the left or does it have to be mounted to the wall? (I'm trying to make as few holes as possible) I'll keep trying to post the rest up but till then thanks for the help fellas

looks like your off to a good start,do me one favor though and make sure that you have some sort of heavy wooden blinds or something that is not going to show your exhaust from the out side of the window,i could suggest building a cheap box"hell even card board would work" around the window but that is set back further so that people dont notcie the differences in the blinds. also u might want to consider just exhausting into the house and using the window as fresh air.i say this because the room looks like an apartment bedroom,i could be wrong but if this is the case and your running a hps lamp your going to have steam coming out of the window "dont want your neighbors calling the fire dept now do u? " other than staying smart about growing every thing looks like its off to a great start.if u dont mind me asking y only 2? i think the min is 6 in most places.hell if u did 6 it would give u a chance 2 tinker around with different feeding and techniques, that would give you the practice u will want in the future and a better idea of how your plants react to different circumstances in the same environment and u could find a style that suits u best.i hope u dont take what i say in a negative aspect, only things to reflect on when your doing your project:thumbsup:

I installed just regular blinds and i'm worried they may shake a lil too much. I cant really do anything about it now i already have my shit screwed the hell in. It's not an apartment but I do have concern over this. It gets cold at night around here but I dont know if its cold enough to steam. I only chose 2 for a couple reasons. I figured I would get some monster buds under a 600 hps and it would just be easier to manage as a first timer. Thanks a lot for the input man its appreciated. Im running behing but my goal is to have it finished tonight if thats the case i"ll post up more.
Can anyone offer advice on my can fan? Do I have to mount it to the ceiling or can I leave it on the stand?

Okay here it is as it stands. My can fan seems to me like it will be fine where it is and shouldn't cause any problems. Everything is complete except for the other vent of my reflector. I'm unsure whether to vent the air back in my room or out of the window box I made....Any advice? The room is pretty large...How is it looking? I plan to partition off another side but probably not until some time in flowering.

Well, the idea behind a vented hood is so you can dump the heat from the bulb somewhere else, like outside. If you have to exhaust into the grow area, you might as well take the lens out of the hood and let the rest of the photons through. (Be careful about the bulb, then--no splashes). Depends on whether heat helps or hinders you.
The filter will work fine like that. The closer to the floor the more kicked-up debris is going to foul your prefilter, though. Most folks prefer to suck through the light rather than push through it for a couple reasons. If you were venting to outside, you could go filter> light > fan > outside and do it all with one hole. Make sure the hood and ducting are airtight or you'll suck smells in after the filter.
And keep those ducts as short as possible. And minimize bends, particularly sharp turns. Solid ducting's got a lot less drag than that dryer-hosey stuff.
Gotta go, HTH.

Good point about the fan sucking up more debris from the floor I didnt even catch that; however, I think it will be fine where it is. I suppose I'll connect my vent to the window box and hopefully it wont cause any problems with shaky blinds or steam coming out my window. Thats a big problem. If so, i"ll have to find a way to vent in my room. Its a large room for only two plants plus with a/c heat shouldn't be a concern. Thanks for the advice man anyone with their two cents - comments, tips, advice, it's all welcome!
