I like the $25,000 fine they stuck him with. Should be more and at least several months in jail. He had a gun and a badge and thought that gave him the right to do whatever.

No fine.

He should be fired and sentenced to jail time.

Just like anyone else would.

Where there is smoke there is fire. I don't believe this is one crooked cop in a Field of daisies.

I would love to be ripped off by a cop rather than go to jail.

yeah, I would be so happy if the cop ripped me off and I didnt get in trouble. I would hope something like that happens all the time.

That's not what happened. He arrested the mark and took the money and pot.

I don't think it said it in that story but it does in this one.

he should get worse than the fine and little bit of jail time. he's a public servant. someone the public is supposed to put faith into. someone who is supposed to be fighting for the greater good.

anyone in a public position of power and caught abusing it should be put to death in my opinion. i'd say life in prison, but we already waste too much tax money on that to begin with.

Good point Shake,

Death seems just a tad over board but I don't like the idea of having my taxes pay for this asshat to sit in jail either.

Considering I'm sure this guy arrested his fair shair of marijuana users he is a complete hypocrit and to me that is sickening.

i agree that it might be a bit overboard. but what else is there?

if we lived by an eye for an eye mentality i guarantee people would stop acting up. it cost on average of $60,000 a year to keep someone in prison. prison is a mulit-billion dollar a year industry.

so we need to get rid of them too. perhaps we can exile them all to an island with nothing on it and tell them good life. like they used to use australia for.

We used to send kids there for something as simple as stealing a loaf of bread because they were starving.
Where do you suggest we draw the line, speeders shipped off to Cuba perhaps , how about kids who graffiti ?
Anyways thats getting way off topic.

At least this story shows that they are trying to weed out the rotten apples.
I believe that most cops are just trying to get on and do thier job..
IMO This guy got off lightly .

i wasn't seriously entertaining the idea. i was more showing my exasperation with it instead. i think saying most cops are just trying to do their job is like saying most of them are dirty. no one knows and until they are held accountable for the oath they take then we'll never know.

i'm merely saying there is a better way to do things. that's all.
