Starting Micro-Mini Grow. Input Loved

Yo. Id like to start by saying nice place here. I happen to be surfing the google-net lookin up info on tiny grows and stumbled upon a couple threads here. Read them through and decided this was the place to go for support.

Ive never had much of a grow before, had a plant that got about three inches tall, but i lost my place and had to move in with parents so i had to toss it :(. Now i got that bogus crap taken care of and im ready to try and grow again!

Ive got very limited space, and a fairly small budget. I estimate i have maybe a two foot space, maybe a little more. Ive got quite a bit of bag-seed to make sure things are working right, and i plan to keep growing and modifying things as i go for a very long time. And i only plan to have one plant at a time, maybe two if i can keep them small enough.

I Honestly dont care about getting a good supply from them, Id settle for getting a single joint from a plant.

So here goes.

I have a couple Milk-crates that i can line with something like tinfoil to make a box out of. The milk-crate box would be extra small, maybe 1'x1'x1'. Well, 2' up if i put another on top and hinged it at the middle. This works well for me because i would LOVE to be camouflaged as much as possible (there is a window pointing right at where i can grow, and i have neighbors).

I also have access to limitless supply of cardboard boxes of random sizes... but i dont believe that would be a very smart idea, flammable and flimsy.

Any other ideas on that?


On the matter of soil... there is excellent dirt where i live, and i would most likely just use some from my yard, clean it of sticks and other crap, maybe put a little pea-gravel in with it?

And for pots... Since the space and the intended outcome is MICRO MINI, how would a plastic cup work? maybe a really big fountain drink cup cut to be shorter? Im not to sure on what to use here.

And for lights, this is my biggest downfall. I dont have much access to any sort of lighting, other then the sun and ceiling lights, so i would need to know what kind of things to buy. Remember to keep it extra tiny and preferably cheap.

For ventilation, depending on what i decide for the box. I have a rather large computer fan, no idea how to make it run on wall power (I have it running on 9v batts now). Again, if needing more, recommendations are great.

I cant really think of anything else offhand now...

Best to learn from your own mistakes but here is some advice.

1: forget about the bagseed and get good seeds 95% of cannabis cultivation is in the seeds!!

2: if you on a small budget i would get around 8 23 watt cfls- Around 10 dallors at home depo

3: ventilation and smell is my biggest problem. be smart and forsee the future before problems occur.

4: 2 feet of grow will not be enough. even if you flower it at 2 feet it will cont to grow.( Topping and bending can only go so far)

5: if your new stay away from miracle grow and similar products. You will burn your babies to hell.

cannabis is easy so its no worries but some basics are needed. Its alot of preperation but once you do it properly there is not much work.

I think i can get it a taller *walks over and measures*. Possibly Four foot tall, it will be much harder for me to camo that, since my plan as to pile crap around it >.<

The only kind of fertilizing i would do if any (to start with) would be to use one of those little cake things for planting seedlings in. They got stuff thats supposed to help all sorts of things grow, in fact it was the ONLY thing i grew my three inch seedling in before i had to abort, and it was doing mighty fine considering its terrible conditions (VERY little light since i had to sit in a window seal to light it, it was potted in an energy shot bottle, those tiny little ones, and i think i over-watered it, since there was no where for excess water to escape from).

I am very concerned about the smell as well. I have never actually seen a real pot plant in person, so i have no idea what to expect. AND i just realised while i was measuring, there is a cold air return vent right where i have room to put the grow box. so i would need to make a carbon scrubber thingy for sure and make sure it works well and thats the only place air escapes.

and about the bagseed.... i was really stupid and i had my hands on the best pot ive ever smoked or even had the honor of smelling and i got all the seeds from it, and mixed it with my swag seeds... im a dumb-ass.

The great pot was supposed to be like... pineapple express or what the fuck, who knows what it was for real as the people i hung around at the time were kinda flaky. But it tasted like the most wonderful cotton candy and was almost an instant euphoric high. if anyone got ideas what it was, id love to know.

Im wondering what are the smallest premade grow-boxes i can purchase? When i start my new job ill have the kind of money to get a pre-made... and ill have it shipped to a seperate location other then my house... maybe buy some tomato plants with it >.<
