It's one of my favorite paintings, by Edward Hopper, set, I believe, in West Nyack, NY... It's ridiculously evocative. I had a tough night last night.

There's an episode of the 70's show that has Red and Kitty winding up in a greasy spoon eatery, and as the camera pulls back it is that exact Hopper painting. The episode is called "the drive in".

You'd kick a real kick out of it Stinky, comes about very surprisingly.:D

yea; i finally found it and, yes, i do have a print rolled neatly in a tube for safekeeping. it's a reminder of the countless midnights i spent in similar places. if you look closely, you might just notice the shadow of someone remarkably like me. he's there, in a corner booth reading the manifesto of the communist party and chuckling quietly to himself or perhaps perusing the political news of the day and laughing out loud.




the nights don't get easier, they just get shorter.
