Ok so I have a 90w quad band ufo in a 36x20x62 tent with refelctive walls. Works soooooo much better than my stupid rubbermaid grow box stacking contraption. Anyhow, seedlings are about an inch tall now in thier humidity dome and seem to be doing well. Today is about six days from putting them in paper towels with 100% germ rate. Sweet!

On to my question. How far should the ufo be from my humidity dome? Right now its about 18 inches away and temp/ humidity is 90/90%. Perfect! Temp outside the dome but in the tent is about 84 and humidity is 35%

Wow anyone?

LEDs are still still relatively new for growing. not too many people have hands-on experience.....and those that do aren't always the most scientific with their grows.

best bet, move it up and down in set increments and see how your plants react.

why do you have the seeds under a humidity dome?

Ok sounds good. Maybe an overdose of info idk? Ive been reading and reading about this shit, its addictive. The dome is off. I do have low humidity though where I live, its at 31% now and sometimes is lower.

don't worry about the humidity so much.

also, i've read anywhere from 6" to 24". i'm not condoning any of these measurements, i'm just giving you what i've read.

Cool thanks. So do you think I should continue the hotter 2x 27 watt daylight cfls or switch over to leds and make a grow log? LOL. Did i mention this is my 1st grow? Go big or go home baby!

go with the LED and start the log! use the CFLs for clones.

woke up this morning and my girls are all dried out and withered. Ugh. I soaked them in 4.9 water and hope they perk back up. Temp was @ 85

im on my first grow using the 90 watt triband red;blue;white.ufo led lights can be almost touching your plants and not burn.ive used mine from day one on autoflowers, and they are and have been wonderful.no heat signature.no burns.electric bill normal, and my girls love the light.best done i believe in closet, or similar space cause led lights expensive if more than one or two are required.

From the information I have seen you can have your plant as close as 1 inch away from a 90watt LED, but the optimum range is about 3 feet.

Hope this helps.

No worry, brah.
'Shake gives good 'vice:cool:

And, in answer to , how high?
That depends.:D
If you want stretch, up to 3'
If you want short internodes, 3"
A good compromise is 8 - 10"
Mind you, I only use 2 colors now and sold my 2 band Ufos to buy 15W. emitters
Your mileage will vary so experimenting is advised..

It's not that 4 bands 1W. emitter lamps are bad.
Just not good enough.:)

You can 86 the cfls.
They made little difference with my lights.
And you are already wasting Watts on white leds. <- Opinion.
