Hey guys, I just recently started and had a question, I have a 250w HPS bulb in my small area of about 3'x3'. its an enclosed closet, with a small fan running (not on the plants directly), Its a white room lined with tin foil. I want the best for my plants and was thinking of adding some cfls? I currently have only 1 plant growing in there, but she will be the mother.
so heres my questions,
1. how many plants do you think is wise to grow in this small area?
2. How many cfls should I put in? (energy is not really a concern)

a 250 watt HPS should be able to handle 2-4 flowering female plants
add fresh air ventilation often and keep the temps in the 70-85 degree range. Flat white paint would be better than tin foil

really? I thought the foil would reflect more than plain white paint... what if i was to mirror the area? would that be worse?
also you guys didnt anwser my 2 questions lol, how many plants and how many lights? cfls will help with the veg stage am i right to assume this?

Mirrors are no good they absorb light, Mylar or flat white paint have good results.

Get some of these (http://www.tahoemountainsports.com/store/mammut-survivalblanket.shtml?gdftrk=gdfV2276_a_7c322_a_7c 857_a_7cMAMMUT_d_SURVBLANK). Not saying get them from there, they sell them at Walmart, around the same price. Go into the camping section.

you didn't say how tall your grow area is? I would just add 1 CFL a side per 8-12 inches. The idea is to get as much light to the budsites as possible. rotate them once a day or so to help that. I doodled a little room in MSPaint :rasta: hope it helps some. :] just remember that plants stretch when they're initiated into the flowering cycle. And only add CFLs if you think that the 250w HPS isn't enough. I use a 400w HPS and that's all for my flowering room, but my veg uses multiple CFLs.

my grow room is about 8 feet tall. I also had 2 black lights which were f15 t8's, I removed them and replaced them which grow lamps. So now I have the 250W HPS above it, I have 2 26W CFL's to the side of him, and moounted on the wall just above the top of my plant I have the 2 f15 t8's. I do believe this is more than enough for my 1 plant lol.
So, when I enduce flowering should I still use all these lights, or are all the lights except the HPS wasted energy?
Also, my strain is blueberry widow, I believe this plant is autoflower, as I have only run 18/6 lights, yet there is tons of white hair patches all over. Does this mean its autoflowering? Will it affect my veg growth cycle? should I just start the flowering cycle now? I am about to start a LST SCROG, should this not be done?
thanks guys!
