I Suggest A Sticky For Products used in this Hobby

Hi Folks been Lurking around here for months reading grow logs and going over multitudes of threads of growers or newbs asking alot of questions.

How About a Thread dedicated to products all products used in the hobby.

Systems,Lighting,Bulbs,pumps... Pros and cons of each.

As a person that is doing some enjoyment of this hobby, What I do not see alot of is product mentioning with the exception of nutrients.
As a soon to be buyer of ballasts bulbs pumps fittings and such I think having such input from the knowledgable Folks on here Would be rather welcome.

Whats the deal with electronic Ballasts are they truely as hyped up as I hear?Is there a best electronic or digital ballast out there for 400 watts 120 volt.
been shopping around on ebay for a deal since the local shop by me is a bit costly in comparison.
and bulbs hps and mh i hear there are certain ones that can be used on digital ballasts.

Dont hold back folks if you read someone is slamming something you use, and trust in,then speak out, let us all in on it.

I think it would be a useful tool, but I don't think the admins want to give out free ads you know?

Yea we can be general and throw a few things out but not brand names.
It would help alot of newb's not get ripped off.

If you can get an electronic ballast do it no matter what brand. Lumi something tech.

We can code links. Help point peeps in the right way and they can make up their own minds.

Half the fun is tuning in your room.

Well I dont wanna upset the Admins with product recognition I was just hoping to get some more insight as to what works what doesnt. what is all bells and whistles and what is not worth a look at.

I built my own grow tent 5ft tall x 5ft wide x 2.5ft deep out of 1 inch pvc pipe. and skinned it with 6 mil panda film. that was fun. although i built it to avoid the cost of buying the grow tent. but after i got the tools needed and parts needed. well i might have saved some money buying a tent. But as i see in this hobby its all an experience. so live and learn. Would i do it over if i had to? sure nuff!! I learned a lot, which for this old dog is quite a feat.

From time to time we hear what is really bad.

We just had a thread about bad grow tents and the off gas killing plants. They said where and what tents and a few chimed in on good tents too.

I like to hear you made your own and although it may have cost as much or more. There is nothing like doing for yourself. If I had just listen to latewood more I would be mixing my own nutes and not need the big guy's for anything. Well maybe a light bulb and ballast. I haven't made those yet. LOL

Most here build all there units but in my case I had to see afew before I made my own.

I feel that's the best way to pick out what works, grow logs. Most people are pretty specific about what they use and how they use it, but it's all "documentary" style buried in grow log threads.

By no means is my grow better than any others on here, but I know my system well and get great results with it.

If you are looking for hydro advice, just keep an eye on the hydro threads for a week or so, and you'll know who you want to guide you. Quite a few successful hydro growers lurking on here:thumbsup:

I looked all over the grow faqs and didnt see a single thread title pertaining to produts in general. i saw many concerning nutrients, but what i was asking for apparently is not allowed and i can and will respect that.
