Hey,

Just joined here... What's up?

I have a spare bedroom I am going to use to grow, the room is 14X10X8.

I am not growing to sell so I do not need or want the whole room looking like a forest if you know what I mean, it would be nice but..... I will be getting and using the following.

2X40 Plant floresent for sprouting
1000W Hortilux Veg and flower
5 Gal paint buckets for plants
Mylar
Fan or ceiling fan
The room has a vent and AC duct already.

My question is, I plan on using a corner of the room giving me 2 walls to Mylar. This leaves me without 2 walls so what is best to put up as temp walls that also will hold Mylar and not cause major construction in that room. I thought of shower curtains and the like but when I need to water and work I can't really slide the curtain back like a regular shower curtain if I have Mylar on it.

I would like to grow 15 plants in 5 gal buckets; I am guessing an area of 4.5X4.5 under 1000W. Is that about right? Or can I add more plants?

Hi MADD
They sell this hard foam insulator stuff at Home Depot..... 4 feet by 8 feet sheets.. very very good stuff to build walls with. They are very light and strong. It is easy to build a track for them and they slide nicely.

If you would ike to see a 10 x 12 X 8 room split into three sections using this stuff check out http://www.seemorebuds.com

good luck

I am going to get this light with Hortilux Bulb Upgrade. In am not growing in a closet or room without vents so do I need this? System IX Ballast Upgrade and last, I know I can veg and flower with a Horti but would it be better to flower with 1000 watt Sodium Backup Bulb if I can afford it or is the Horti all that is needed?

Is this EconoGro System good? and does anyone know where I can find it or one just as good for less?

you can also get cheap, flat white, 1/4" drywall tha's ready to go with a primitive 2x4 frame from home depot or similar.

don't forget to drill some drainage holes in the paint bucket.

i use 5 gal buckets after they germinate and veg for as long as it takes to show sex in 1 gal pots...then transplant f's into the 5 gal's. starting them in the bigger buckets will shorten the time for them to get rootbound...which will happen anyway after 6-10 weeks in the 5 gal's. not a prob if flowering by that time...
