Hi there just wondering if anyone knows if a Bright Wing 42W 5100K 2800 Lumens Grow Light would do for 2 Little Angle Autoflowering plants? Any help appreciated. Thanks

One thing I can tell you right now is that if you plan to use just one of those bulbs, you will not have nearly enough lumens to do any good. You want, at a bare bones minimum, 5000 lumens per square foot.

Thanks mate! So would you say run around 5000 on each plant minimum?

Just to be on the safe side, I'd go 1750 per plant. But remember, that is BARE BONES minimum!! Try to get as much light on them as possible!! Furthermore, if you decide to put a bunch of lights in your space, you NEED to have proper ventilation!
Cheers man,

What kind of budget are you looking at?
Before you start thinking about lights, you should consider what kind of medium you want to grow in and how your room is set up.
1.) If you don't want to grow in soil but hydroponics intimidate you, I advise you to google search (or search on this forum) for "hempy buckets" as they are a god send for soil-less growers.
2.) What are the specifics on your grow space? (Dimensions, access to electricity, access to water, close to where people will be spending a lot of time?, etc.)
Let's start off with these two things and see what comes of it bro,

Thanks again mate for the fast replys! I am defo looking to grow in soil with hydroponics in a closet which I estemate sizes of 5ft squared and about 10ft tall. All electrical and water access is perfect, overall the grow room I have chosen is ideal, Just dont have a clue how much light I need for 2 plants in this area. My budget is around £100 for lighting, hope I can get something good enough for this price! lol
Cheers again!

These places have pretty good prices for Europe... PFLANZBURG ONLINESHOP (http://pflanzburg.de/store/product_info.php?cPath=1_17&products_id=2618) (sorry it's in German, I don't understand it either but just search around and use an online translator if you have to ) and Udopea (Starter Kits) (http://www.udopea.de/index.php/cat/c529_Starter-Kits.html)... Check out the prices between these shops as some things are cheaper in one shop, and some in the other.
I purchased one of the ventilation kits (RUCK RK100 Tube fan 220m3h +carbon filter) for my 400w and it still ran a little hot even with a cooltube, so I'd get a bigger fan than they recommend.
For you, a 250w hps will be sufficient for now. But, once you get the hang of this, you'll want bigger buds and want to upgrade to a 400 or 600.
I started with a 400w hps and one plant, got about 60 grams dry. Second time had two plants yielding 110g, 14 weeks from seed to harvest. I did plenty of reading on this site too... Do plenty of research, look at other people's first grows and see how they did, etc. , before you go and buy something.
Good luck

One thing you will want to do with your space before you start growing is to install some sort of reflective coating on all of the sides to get the full benefit of your lights.
If you can't afford something like mylar or panda film, what you can do is paint all of the walls a flat white, or you can adhere white printer paper to large slabs of cardboard and install those on all sides of your space. It does make a difference when you are using a HID light (HPS or MH). If CFL's are what you're bent on using, you can hang lights at different levels to penetrate the inside of the plants and skip the reflective preperation stage.
The autoflowering strains you have chosen don't get very tall, but I have a friend right now who is growing lowryder 2's outdoors and they are 6 feet tall...either that is the most effed up mutation ever, or he was sent the wrong beans.......
Cheers, try posting some pics and we'll see how this goes man!

I hear lots of good things about T5 fixtures so I think you should be good using that light with your autoflowering strains. If you are confused by the kelvin temperature ratings you find on these lights (for example this light has a temp. rating of 3000 kelvin) check out this link: Vegetative/Flowering Perfect Kelvins? - The Garden's Cure (http://www.gardenscure.com/420/lighting/48732-vegetative-flowering-perfect-kelvins.html)

this is the lighting setup that I am using.... 10 23w CFLs, and 10 dual tube 4ft T12s. I grow in 5 gallon buckets of dirt, and it has been working pretty good. The CFLs have been raised in this pic...normally they are only about 2 inches above the tops of the plants.
never mind... the stoopid thing is telling me I can't post attachments :wtf:

Currently growing one Toxic Blue(re-vegged), and a Nor Cal Daddys Girl(thanx IR). My cab is a 6 ft triangle thats 8ft high made out of 2x2 furring strips, and foil faced insulation board. the CFLs are in a home brew fixture of sorts that is suspended from a rope and pulley arrangement, to be raised and lowered as needed. the T12 fixtures are vertical and equally spaced around the cab. ventilation is from a 16 inch box fan blowing air into the bottom of the cab, and the top is open.
I can easily grow up to 3 plants, but no more, but I don't need any more than that.
