A Tiny Grow

Booya!! Welcome to my first official grow log. Complete with pics and info.
Today is day 1 and took my clones out of fridge to warm up a lil before being placed into their Rapid Rooters. Clones were a little bit wilty this time around coming out of fridge and I am blaming so very high humidity thaa we have been having lately. Cut clones down to size and trim about 50% of leaf growth, scarred 1 side of stem and quick dunl in some Rootech cloning gel and into the RR they went. Right now standing in there tray with dome on (lightly sprayed inside of dome) and have a single 75w cfl overhead.

and before anyone asks .... the strain is called Medibud, was mail ordered from the UK, which we have been growing for about a year now. The netpots that you see are only there to support the RR's so they dont tip over. This grow here will be going into 6" RW blocks, since I have 5 left and need to use them up, have been growing in 4" blocks with good success but am moving away from RW entirely so need to use up what have left around here before just going with RR's and Hydrotron.

First off. How long were they in the frigde ?

Do you have a heat pad and if not what is your room temp for cuttings ?

Cool I need to put some cuttings away for a couple weeks maybe three. I will be using rapid rooters since I have run out of small rockwool cubes. My rooms A/C so I will use the heatmat when the time comes.

Good Luck Tiny....I have just put some cuttings in the fridge. Do you keep them with a wet paper towel or just by themselves?

Byrdog55 just seal them up in a ziploc bag and toss them in the crisper drawer right after cutting them. No wet anything as extra moisture can cause rot and such. Should open ziploc like once a week and do an air exchange but if having extreme humid weather I would hold off till humidity drops as I am seeing wilting that I normally dont have but had REAL high humidity for about a week or so.

Day 2:
running around 80-85 under the dome and a couple of clones look a lil less wilty today. tommorrow should be time to "dunk" them to keep the RR's moist. Did do a light mist of PH'd water with 1 dpg Superthrive added.

no doubt the wilting is going away and they are starting to be vertical again :thumbsup:

ooops, I just removed the paper towels. i keep the air in the house pretty low so the humidity stays down to. Thanks for the advice

Day 4, 5 and 6
ok to bring you all up to date still fighting the damage that came about with the high humidity in the fridge. Most likely going to lose 2 clones out of the 5 to stem rot, fucking sucks but I'm still learning as we all are. Hell if I knew it all I would have to find something else to do with my time :jointsmile:
first 2 pics are from day 4 when things were still looking a lil positive. Other 3 are from today. Last 2 pics are the 2 that I'm going to lose but GF says leave them be maybe they will come back ..... nope. RR's are still staying moist and took dome completely off as hunidity in room is like 60% and cant afford to lose anymore.

Day 11
we have roots starting to emerge from the RR's on the 3 remaining clones!! :thumbsup:

Day 12
aprox 1/4 str nutes mixed in gal of ph'd water also 1 drop Superthrive. Dunking RR's by hand twice a day atm. Made a trip to Hydro store to restock nutes/ph adjust/hydrotron and while there picked up a thermostat for heat mat. average temp at RR level is now average 77 f hunidity around 50%

ok we def have 3 clones rooted in there RR's and tonite I put the 6" blocks to soak in PH'd water. tomorrow will take pics when they get moved to there new homes and you will see what to much fuckin humidity does!! they still look pretty sad but I'll save them!! :thumbsup: went to 1/2 str nutes tonite and bumped up ST to 1/4 tsp per gl PH'd water. oh btw I run tap water.

ok as promised here are the pics of the 3 clones left. yep they look like shit but I'll bring em back np :thumbsup: they just got put in their new homes tonite. 1/2 str GH 3-part sitting under 4 75w cfl's on 24/7. If they perk up by Sunday I'll put them in the tray and let them taste the E&F life but we will see. This grow is gonna be in my smaller of 2 cabs/tents so 3 plants will fill it nicely. these are 6" blocks btw so you can est size.

It ain't always sunshine. I just tossed about 40 clones cause I was not paying attention. I put the wrong water on them and screwed them up good. Lost my BRO to the CANE complex. He saw what I had and now he is one pissed monkey. Wanted all I had, no lie. He thinks just cause he had a few mothers and gave me back a few clones that I owe him for life. This is blood now. So he screws me over in our plans and talks shit to friends.

the way I look at it is noone is perfect and why not show the oopses (not even sure that is a word lol) in what goes on. so far looks like about a 1 1/2 week delay in my grow time but I have had worst. today I have nothing new to report other than they are not dead ;)

hey tiny...This is exactly what people need to see in a grow log. How we, as farmers, must overcome the craziest shit happening to our plants...and share with others how it is done.

Loc and Tiny...you both know how many times I almost killed my plants (and sometimes it wasn't my fault)...but, if I did not show the problems and how to fix it...no one can learn from my mistakes.

I don't know what it is but when there is alot of negative energy my plants do very poor. And they can tell. So I will keep my cool and the girls will be alright.

I think my trichomes are about 3/4 cloudy now. won't be long. Got the big flush going on.

Kicked the heating mat up a few degrees to help dry the RW blocks a lil faster, I forgot how much dam water those 6" blocks retain lol. Other than that nothing new to change :cool:

waited an extra day for the pic but we have new Growth on #1 for sure and this morning can just start to make out new growth on #3. Also trimmed off the dead crap this morning, not the whole branch mind you. I followed the branch of the dead leaf from the mian stem to the point wfere it shrivled and pinched itself off and that is where the trim took place. Tomorrow will wash out the cab that theses guys will be going into, setting up the tray and changing HPS back to MH. Have to make a trip to Wally World and pick up some air tubing, moving air pump outside of cabinet so pump isnt drawing in 85 degree air and pumping it into my rez. Place air pump outside of cab and can control temp a lil easier. Last 2 pics are of 1 of the nicer buds that just came out of our last round, not to bad for only a 7 week flower. Not to mention that the clones that were in that grow looked worst than the ones I'm doing now, Humidity issue real bad and took seeing it a second time to know what it was, lost 3 out of 5 and 1 of the survivors never really did grow worth a shit

well so far this grow is pretty shity being day 27 start from clones and just now making it into the cabinet.

Lets recap shall we??
Started 5 clones lost 2 due to high humidity conditions and nursed other 3 till now.
2 of the surviving clones are doing well and holding onto hopes for the third.
Today they finally made it to their new home and are now being flooded 5 times a day 15 mins per flood.
full strength on nutes with 1 drop of ST per gal of 6.0 water
400w Cooltube running MH bulb 18 on 6 off

Hopefully things will take off now that they made it in here :thumbsup:

these pics are from the 16th which is 3 days in cabinet and #1 and #3 are no doubt liking the new home but I am still having doubts on #2 as I have seen no signs of new growth and the 1 leaf it has is getting pretty dry and brittle so I thinking if nothing new and green within the next week then I will be pulling it and going with just the 2.

plant #2 did root in the RR but I think the stem just got to far gone as there are no signs or spots of green, like the tophalf is basically dead but bottom half wont give up lol. They get B-1 through the ST also and after having a "wet" issue to begin with I not sure if I want to folier or not hehe but ty for the input :jointsmile:

#1 has been thriving quite well since being introduced to the flood tray and #3 is running a lil slow but forward momentum is still being seen. #2 I believe will be removed this weekend as still no signs of anytype of new growth .... I even tryed foliar with PH'd water and ST and nothing so I gave it till this weekend. Pics on Sunday....... time to relax a lil :jointsmile:

starting week 3 of veg. still running GH 3-part at 5/5/5 (ml per gal) and 1 drp ST per gal. Flood is 5 times a day at 15 mins each. 400w MH running 18/6. PH 5.3-5.8
Ok gave up on #2 and pulled it this morning. Oddly enough there was absolutely no green growth but it was rooted quite well. Rearragned the other 2 to use space in tray to its best advantage. pics below of the 3 minutes before pulling #2.
Chopped down the grow inside the tent this morning also and popped in a couple pics of hanging.

ok the first pic is no doubt our 2 surviving clones growing up to adulthood. This is week 1 of flower so MH bulb has been relocated to the tent where that grow will begining in about a week, or just a lil under, light timer is now set 12/12, flooding 4 times a day only during daylight hours and nute mix is now 5/2.5/10 (ml per gal Micro/Grow/Bloom) with NO ST during flower.
Other 3 pics are 6 day old clones that the 2 survivors were kind enough to donate for the up coming tent grow I mentioned. The 6 clones just started turning a lil yellow so their water is now 2.5/2.5/2.5 with 1dpg of ST. 2 70w cfl's 24/7

nope, no heat issuses in either the tent or Cab. The cab runs a lil cooler as the interior space is smaller than the tent and they both are running same exhaust fan (12v about the size of a computer case fan), I need to get a larger one in the tent before switching to DWC instead of E&F. Both 400w lamps are vented directly outside by way of a dryer vent I mounted in the exterior wall. Summer time I do have to leave door to room open and run a box fan blowing AC air into the room but this time of year I can control it just by opening and closing of room door.

What are the dimensions of your two plants...I am quite impressed with the pictures. I can't wait to see the final product.

And, BTW...I think everyone should be required to show a picture of the plants before they cut them...and after they are dried and cured. There really is not much info (or pictures) after a grow has hit week 8. I think TINY, LOC, and MARTYR should change this with our forums. Agreed gentlemen?

I think people really grow great...where the fuck up is in drying and curing (because there really isn't much info out there). I think we should share what we find to be successful (like water curing, superfan drying, etc.)

Yeah...dried weight is 1/3rd to 1/6th of the original cut weight.
But, I don't even touch my scale until they are ready to cure...and then I still measure every week...cause moisture is drawn out in my cure process...and more weight is lost.

I would love to see your methods Master LOC!!!!! Would improve my methods and help some folks out on here for sure. :thumbsup::jointsmile:

we do basic hang for a week and into the jar it goes method here but this grows time was off a lil so gonna have to break out the DIY dryer I built to speed the process up on some of it, so in a nutshell we got a 2 for 1 sale going on lol :jointsmile:

top of tallest bud seems to be about 27" and bottom of light is about 38" both of these measurements start at the top of the tray which is basically even with the top of the 6' RW blocks that they are sitting in. The inside W and D is 36" by 23" respectively and it is full lol. I have 2 pieces of string at seperate heights going across the front area where the doors are to hold the dam things in there when I open the door :D I also use a transmission funnel from an auto parts store to refill and add water to res because I cant get to it to pour anything in!! Good thing I'm an auto mechanic lol /puff puff pass your up :jointsmile:

so I was reading up on the MEDI-BUD strain. It seems very "haze" like in origin. Be very careful not to cut these too early. With all Haze plants I like to let them go for 10-12 weeks (depending on the pheno). Or when outdoor...Mid to late October.

They look fantastic...and I can't microscope them to give you my honest opinion. But, please make sure these are fully done before you cut...Otherwise they are light, airy...and not great for smoking out of the bong...Great for Joint and Blunt only. :D

we been playing with this strain for over a year now and think we found the sweet spot at 8 weeks flower but ty for the research and if I can get a lil ahead on bud then maybe I can try to stretch a next run a couple more to compare :D

I am in the same boat with my current grow of Blue Dream...Enough haze in there to make me have to go an extra 2-4 weeks past the normal 8 week cycles I get from my Green Crack...and other sativas!

well my ballast just shit the bed and with 3 days left I get to finish by swapping 1 ballast between 2 grows both in flower running 12/12 opposite each other lol. Any good affordable places for a 400w ballast? hehe

This is why I always keep enough cash on hand to cover the unexpected. Blowing a ballast is totally random too. I have yet to see that magic happen. Maybe its time to go with a digital ballast this time. They are rated with a longer life than a standard ballast. Just a thought.

Let us know how the girls end up...since you are switching ballasts back and forth.

Marty it was a digital ballast by Galaxy. I opened the case this morning and everything is sealed in that black resin crap from the factory but it smells burnt to hell. My other ballast is a Digital Greenhouse ballast and I like this one better, it atleast has a cooling fan lol. swapping ballast back and forth for few days wont be to bad just glad it happened at the end :wtf:

The only real drawback to electronic is not being able to rebuild.

I know it's a pain switching but it's a pain of love. That makes it worth it.

I hear ya about the dryer but we have to do what we have to do.

Looks like ours came in between 9 and 10 ounces. About 5 in Papaya and 3 in Hawiian and almost 2 of the redhair skunk.

The skunk is a real slow creeper very easy to smoke too much before you know it. LOL I thought it needed to go longer or something and then I needed to sit on the couch about 30 mintes later and lay down after about an hour.

Like Cheech said, what's in that stuff, no wait don't tell me let it be a surprize, man.

total from 2 plants ......... just over 6 1/2 oz. not to bad I guess but the quality is right where it needs to be. Are going to go an extra week on current grow to see if it changes much. Will also be changing my tent (which is the current grow thats going the extra week) from an E&F setup to five 5 gal DWC buckets and I'm sure the yeild will change for a better per plant average. Thank you all for stopping in and chiming in here and there and stay tuned as I will log my tent change over.
