View Full Version : Stem Broke, Can I Still Clone?

I had a HUGE Purple Kush plant that I was getting ready for a scrog. The stem had broken a bit at the base from being tied down, so I straightened the plant upright for a couple weeks to see if it would heal. Well, when I cut the ties that were holding it upright to prepare it to go into the screen, the whole thing tipped and it just snapped off right at the base. :( Is it still possible to clone it?
I took 11 clones within 15/20 minutes of the stem breaking off. What are the chances that the clones will survive? Anyone ever had this happen?

never had it happen, but the clones should be fine (depending on how you care for them of course...and if the ladie was healthy).
i've had plants not get light for seven or eight days. the tops of all of them died, but it topped them naturally.
let us know what happens.

Thanks shake. Yeah, the plant was big and healthy, about 5 feet tall, but the stem broke about halfway through at the base when I tried to tie it down. Had a little of the beginnings of root rot symptoms but I'd say overall she was 95% healthy. I also have pretty good luck with my clones so hopefully things will pan out. I'd hate to lose this strain and have to go back to the seedlot to find a purple pheno. I'll let you know if it works in a couple weeks. :thumbsup:
