I have some 2 week old seedlings growing under t5 fluros and most are doing fine but a few of them have yellow leaves, they are the first set which are single finger leaves. I am growing in farland seedling soil with no nutes, ph is 6.5 and temp. is 70-74with 40% humidity. any ideas? I will try to post some pics later in the night when iget home from work.:what:

do you know offhand what the cotyledon look like?

I believe that is what is turning yellow, the first leaves that came off the seed

the round ones? these are the cotyledon. they are basically food storage for seedlings. seeing as how your soil has no nutes, the plant is burning through the food stores.

you might want to start using that fox farm you got. use advice rusty gave you. start at 1/4 or 1/4 and work your way up.

good growing!

Thanks headshake for your help. I not totally new to growing but I am no expert either. I have done a few small grows with crappy equip. But this time I did get some new t-5's, built a small grow box with good ventilation and got some better nutes. I want to do better each time and learn from people like you as I go. I am out of work with a screwed up hand surgery so money is quite low, much to low to buy my smoke so I thought I would try to grow again. sorry about the rambling! anyway, thanks for the quick response and advice.

it's all good biggin. i'm broke, out of work and just like growing things (or so i have found out since starting this experiment).

it gets addicting that's for sure. and i'm no expert, i'm on about my fourth grow. with CFLs, cardboard and ghetto as can be. but i'm learning and hope to get new equipment sometime soon (as i keep saying!).

Yeah thanks headshake! I got some seedlings about a week old or so and the round leaves just now started turning yellow. So i just gave them a 1/4 strength feeding. Something like 100 ppm shouldn't shock them too bad should it?
