I chew tobacco.. alot
I was wandering if I could put a good amount of hemp oil into my dip.
The nicotine enters by fiberglass "cutting into your lip" and entering your blood stream could i do this with hemp oil?

Are you cutting your chewing tobacco with insulation?

Just try chewing straight pot after cleaning out the stems then swallow it instead of spitting it out.

Chewing tobacco has trace amounts of fiberglass in the product so that the nicotine and other chemicals can enter the body's system more efficiently.

Also, a lot of people claim that eating raw cannabis provides a desired effect, but I don't believe it works. I've never seen it work and I've never experienced it work; that is unless the desired effect of eating raw cannabis is feeling kind of sick to your stomach and feeling like an idiot for wasting perfectly good bud.

Finally, to the original poster, putting hash oil in your chew might not work unless the oil is a tincture that contains available THC that needs no heat to be activated. (Not TOO knowledgeable in the ways of oils...)

if i'm not mistaken the heating of cannabis causes one of the other cannibinoids (CBD maybe) into THC. stay below 350F (176.7C) as the THC will start to cook off.

raw cannabis probably isn't as strong (obviously) and the high is much different (obviously). it probably also has to do with getting the THC into your body. (maybe we should add fiberglass?)

think about it, you can chew on coca plant and get a little buzz, or you can isolate the alkaloids and have a much stronger cocaine. (sorry, not the greatest anology.)

I have never heard this and I have tried to verify this and can't find any relevant information other than quotes that it amounts to an urban rumor. Since many people who have worked with fiberglass develop cancer it just doesn't sound plausible. But if you can direct me to solid info it would be appreciated.

Again what is activated THC?
I get a very nice buzz eating raw weed but I do not understand your concept of activating it.
Could you please elaborate?

Activating THC involves converting it from it's non psychoactive acidic form into it's neutral psychoactive form. Usually done via the process of drying and curing (over time), or by heating in the case of edibles. That's why smoking a fresh green bud packs more of a headache than a buzz.

It's not a good idea to ingest "raw" cannabis material, or really any cannabis material. The small protective cystolith (not sure about spelling) hairs on the bottom of leaves (not the trichromes, the other hairs) easily sliver into the digestive lining causing irritation and possible complications. THC is best extracted into a fat or oil, where it will become available to the body for digestion.

I hope this makes sense, and I'm not trying to be a party pooper on the whole "weed dip" idea, I just wouldn't swallow it. If you have "hemp oil", like commercially purchased hemp oil, it won't do anything anyways. No THC in commercial hemp products.

I think we essentially agree in theory but are using a different terminology. What is termed activation of thc I would call converting from a non psychoactive chemicals in cannabis into a psychoactive ingredients in a process that can be accelerated with heat but will also occur naturally given enough time.

My favorite weed to eat has been portions of bags that have been put up and forgotten about until the weed is a almost dry powder, dryer than you would want to smoke. Mixed with yogurt or ice cream the uncooked cannabis gets me quite stoned. Just my personal experience, but I have done it quite a bit over the years.

I still have doubts that there is fiberglass in anything sold that is made to put in your mouth.

I woke up many a weekend morning of my 20s having fallen asleep with the TV on to find Bob Ross giving art lessons on the local PBS station. Love the avatar.

Through some research I have found that my previous conception that trace amounts of fiberglass are deposited in chew is false (Dipping tobacco - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dipping_tobacco)). Rather than fiberglass, companies pack chew with alkaline salt crystals that allow for the nicotine to be absorbed much quicker and efficiently (It effs with the weather in your mouth). Creating lacerations in your mouth actually works against you because it causes your capillaries to contract and bleed, thus flushing all substances away from the blood stream and making sure nothing gets in...

Sorry for the incorrect info earlier. I don't chew or smoke cigs, I only smoke shisha out of hookahs...

As far as the psychoactivity of THC vs. THCA goes, my research tells me that THCA is NOT psychoactive. Read the Cannabinoids section of this book (Clinical laboratory medicine - Google Books (http://books.google.com/books?id=3PJVLH1NmQAC&pg=PA430&lpg=PA430&dq=is+THCA+psychoactive%3F&source=bl&ots=trqx15RMhU&sig=URYK6Q63RNQEWW1sFjPbfl8YmF0&hl=en&ei=GV6ESrDJMYaMMe3gpNwL&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=7#v=onepage&q=&f=false)) and you will understand (If you like science). My understanding is that, when heated or bonded with an unsaturated fat (decarboxylated), THCA becomes psychoactively available in the form of THC. Once ingested, THC is then RE-oxidized by your body and stored as the non-psychoactive THCA in your body fat. This is why, when you smoke up and THCA is stored in your body, you can test positive for THCA for a period of time after ingestion but not experience any prolonged psychoactive effects.

Lastly, pertaining to the ingestion of REALLY OLD and dry cannabis, I am unsure if THCA naturally decomposes into THC, but it would seem unlikely that it would become devoid of its oxygen over time...if you find an article that speaks otherwise, please post it. I love science. Perhaps our mod StinkyAttic can chime in, I hear she is a chemist.

The end.

Peace,
SMG

Decarboxylation | Cannabis Culture Magazine (http://www.cannabisculture.com/articles/2794.html)

I have a tendency to move on to a new bag of weed when I get down to the point of too many stems and assorted trash in the bag. Usually a gram or 2 left in the bag. I let these collect in a coffee can in my garage which gets very warm/hot. This is kept as my backup stash but if money and pot have both been available I might not resort to this stash for a year or more. Then I dump everything in a pile, clean out the stems and eat and smoke the weed. I got in to the eating thing because the smoke buzz is sort of stale but eaten raw gives me an analgesic type buzz like a painkiller for a tooth extraction.

If herb could be eaten raw why would people waste their time cooking it and smoking it ? People say they have things happen to them, IMO its the placebo affect. With out a fat or oil to extract and a heat source i doubt it will work. And besides the previous posts are right, the leaves do have sharp lil points that can be harmful to stomach lining. Hash is a great way to ingest with simply chewing and sucking on it till it blondes out. Would also help kick the tobacco habit hah.

Thats a great idea but, I don't think it would taste too good. It'll taste like Stone IPA. Does anyone else agree that stone IPA tastes a little funky?
