Need Help Choosing a Place to Move !

Iv'e got to move but only have one shot at it,and really don't want to screw it up !!! I would go anywhere (up to 250k) and just dont want to be in a non freindly area. If u know of somewhere that u like I'd love to know where ?

I moved to catherdal city,ca 3 months ago looking for a house in that price range. You can find a nice place for 250,000 but still would have a HOA BILL each month. It's by palm springs in the desert and I love it. No rain and people are nice. I looked north CA. but the cost was more.
