hey guys,

i've been perusing through this site, there is a lot of great information!

i have a quick question...tomorrow i have a pre-employment drug test and i will be using quick fix 4.2...however, i do not have access to a microwave to warm up the bottle. i do have a one hour lunch break before my test (urine cup test). will this be enough time for the hand warmer to warm up the 2 oz. bottle to the recommended 90-100 degrees? i was going to crotch the bottle up until lunchtime, will that keep the bottle even remotely warm?

sorry for the short notice, any answers will be helpful.

the hand warmers you are using start heating to their max temp as soon as you open the package. they usually reach the max temp in about 10 minutes or so. but be careful, some of them have a max temp upwards of 140 degrees! check the back of the pacage to see what yours does. most of them will hold the temp for about 5 hours.

i have been using the (toastie toes) heating pads that came with the PISSINATOR. their max temp (during peak) only goes up to 100 but the average temp is about 96; so i don't have to worry with it overheating. and they sell replacement pads on the website too.

hope you get this in time. good luck!

oh yeah, from my experience, a 2oz sample usually will be warmed from room temp to that magic range in about 10-15 minutes. just keep a close eye on its temp so not to let it get too hot. if you dont have one, go to a pharmacy and get an adhesive temperature strip (like the ones you stick to your forhead).

Actually ,the heat packs that come with the QF take approximately 1 hour to heat a QF bottle (that was stored at room temp)to 100 F. Thats why its recommended that the QF bottle should be preheated (via mic, hot water, etc) before banding the heat pack to it.

In the several years that Ive used the QF, Ive never encountered problems with the heat pack overheating the bottle.

so even without using a microwave, the heat from my crotch, in addition to the heat pack that i will be able to apply during my lunch hour, should be enough to warm the bottle enough to pass my test?

During your lunch hour, why not just go to a convenient store and use the mic there?

You should have a mic at work. Just through it in a big coffee cup so no one can see it and nuke it for 10 seconds.
