so i put the bean into the paper towel moist then when the taproot did appear i placed it in soil to wait for it to sprout. when i checked it after 24 hours, the seed together with the taproot didnt seem to grow, like the root being longer etc.
anybody has experience with this situation?
thanks :)

Not a good sign, usually once you transplant the root takes off. Was it barely cracking the shell?
I try to let the root get about 1/4"-3/8" long before transplanting, even longer is OK.

could be bad seed,it should grow if it is a good seed,or if it too moist or something it will turn brown and dye..
i have had this happen when seeds where not dry long enuff after being out of bud..

it could have been a weak seed but my guess is the problem is that you dug it up and checked on it. be patient, and when it sprouts dont exect it to grow an inch a day either.

Did you water the soil some ?.
If the little tap root dries out just a little it's all over. They need to stay moist.

what i did was just mist the dixie cup container where the seed lives.
the other one of its batchmates is also slow growing, really slow but growing.but this one, really not. the taproot seemed to have 2 shades of white, 1/2 being white as it should be and the other half a bit yellowish.this was when i remember putting it into soil from the paper towel.i guess bad seed. this 2 were my favorite and last beans of its kind that i have.

That yellowish was a dried out root and will not recover or take a very long time if it makes it.
