View Full Version : What nutes do you use?

Just thought i'd ask what nutes people are using and what they would recommend. For my first grow, i just wanted something simple ie one bottle for veg and one for flower. After some research and solid advice from friendly grow shop in Navan i ended up going for Plagron organic range (grow for Veg and bloom for flower with green sensation to boost flowers). I have nothing to gauge the success or otherwise of these products against and would appreciate any feedback.
if this is against any rules for the forum (product advertising or what not), then i apologise. I'm just looking for advice.

BioBizz all the way here. Grow, Bloom and TopMaxx. Selling point for me on this one was the OMRI listing. Easy to use, hard to overdo, and less nute buildup than things with salts like foxfarm. I have used FF also, and liked it, it was just a little more involved keeping PH in check.

Hi fourkicks. Thanks for the reply. do you use the top max? or similar PK booster during flowering? Just wondering has anyone tried a comparison trial to see the difference these flower boosters make?
I might try the biobizz when my plagron runs out.;)

Irydyum cheers for that. OMRI? Showing my ignorance here but what's that?

With the biobizz do you use the nutes with ever watering? most growing guides tell you not to feed nutes every water, but during my grow i was getting all sorts of greens and yellow leaves, and when i asked questions (on other forums and in grow shops) i was given a range of answers ranging from nute lock out, nute burn, not enough nutes, too hot temperatures etc.

what i'm confused about is the instructions seem to say feed with every watering but the advice i was getting back was feed max once a week from experienced growers. What's your watering/nute regime?

OMRI - Organic Materials Review Institute (http://www.omri.org/)
:: BioBizz (http://www.biobizz.nl/)

Check out the links. It should clear the whole OMRI thing up.

I feed mine every other watering at full strength per manufacturers recommendation. Feel free to drop in on my log, link in sig, and you can find out everything about my grow. That way I don't waste ur thread:jointsmile:

My guess is if you were experiencing a range of symptoms, it was probably a nute buildup if you were using it every watering. Usually deficiencies will show with some regularity, like yellowing. Using ferts with salts in them, the salts will build up in the soil over time and cause the PH to go out of range, and a whole bunch of different nutes can become unavailable at times, giving you multiple symptoms.

eddiekeni used to be puzzled too.i feed neuts every second feed.. so for example.the first time i give neuts to a plant it would be.....
MONDAY... 1/3 LITRE OF WATER WITH 1/2 MILL BIO GROW AND DROP OF SUPERTHRIVE........................
WEDNESDAY 1/3 LITRE WATER AND DROP OF SUPERTHRIVE...........
FRIDAY..1/3 L WATER WITH 1/2 MILL BIOGROW AND DROP OF SUPERTHRIVE....
SUNDAY1/3 L WATER AND DROP OF SUPER THRIVE......
this seems to work for me but eack to his own..keep upping the dosage of neuts and the water every week as the plant needs it. you can space it out 3 or four days either as the plants need it.but try keep it regular..as regards to top max ihave never used it,but will try it out soon...i use superboost.i use it in the 3rd and 6th week of flowering..hope this helps..

I use Miracle Gro, even though ppl advised against it. It's all I could find though lol :(

Seems to be working well though, I don't really have any complaints :)

i've tried many, many ferts, however one in particular that i have had phenomenal results with is the use of chicken manure (~1-.3-.4) for vegging and a product called bloomburst for flowering. bloomburst comes in a spray bottle and has a 10-15-10 NPK w/ trace elements. its dual feeding action (foliar + roots) delivers the nutrients efficiently and quickly.

Just to put it out there, has anyone done a simultaneous grow feeding one plant with nutes and another without to see the comparison (i was thinking just about the flower booster nutes as they are the dearest). When i was buying the nutes in the grow shop i asked if they make a difference and was told to do the comparison grow but as i am only growing 5 plants for my own consumption i wanted to make sure i got the best results, so didn't take the challenge maybe next time when i can plan the grow better.;)
