Hey I just harvested my buds and I heard that in order to make the seeds fertile they should be frozen. Is there any truth to this or not?? It makes sense because they freeze in nature but what about a plant that has been grown indoors?? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
P.S. Do those chinese beetles hurt the plants any?? :)

preserving seeds is best if you put it in an airtight bottle or somethin then put it in a freeezer with rice in it.. the rice will absorb moisture. read this somewhere..
but mine works well i put in a ziplock for a couple of months some still germinate.

Seeds can be germed right after harvest... this is a FACT and unless you have tried it ... dont claim me to be wrong.

I don't freeze mine. I use film canisters and place a few grains of rice with each one and keep them in the butter drawer of my refrigerator. The rice absorbs the moisture. You don't want your seeds absorbing moisture they may want to try to pop before you need them to.

Same here, well almost. I put the seed in a tuperware container with uncooked rice then place them in the fridge. I have never put them in the freezer.

Ahh frozen pot seeds, what a tasty delight. Something akin to a polish popsicle (frozen kolbasi) Nope, dont do it. Here is some food for thought too. Where did the seeds come from? Too close to a male eh? Sensimelia right out the window. Oh well, just let them dry out with the rest of the bud, they will work just fine. Store them like everyone says, in rice, in the fridge if you must but dont freeze the fuckers! If you were a Marijuana seed, would YOU want to be frozen? NOT!

That may be true but in nature the seeds freeze don't they?? So why wouldn't you wanna freeze them?

There is also a difference between natures freezing nd being placed inside a freezer.
freezing will not damage your seed, however unfreezing will, your best bet is just to place your seed in an air tight container and put them somewhere cool, dark & DRY and just leave them untill you need them.

cool, dark and dry is all that's needed for long term storage. i've kept mine in pill bottles inside containers in the back of the fridge for several years and still have good success with them and same for in desk drawers. freezing can burst the cells if not properly dried 1st and although many do store this way, it is generally advised against keeping them in the freezer. the c99's in the current grow pics are from seeds over 5 years old for instance and had 7 out of 8 germinate with 5 f's this round (these have been stored in the pill bottles in the fridge).
