Do you think this is a hybrid? The leaves are so broad, I want to think it's pure indica, but it's from street shwag, so who knows really....They're growing pretty good for only one 42w flourescent light...I'm using soil that's specially formulated for African Violets, supposed to promote their blooming...I just got it because it's cheap, but they seem to be liking it.

hard for me to tell if it's a hybrid or indica/sativa.....it's early yet for that, plus this is my first grow as well....your soil must be good....as long as it is ph balanced and drains well...i use soil more or less the same type like yours, for flowreing plants like geranium....so far have not faced any problems at all.....first time i used ferts was during the 5th week from seed, was into last week of vegetation....anyway....do not overwater and do not use any ferts if the plant does not show u signs that it needs them....you will know what your plant needs only by looking at it.....if you have any further questions ask :)

Yeah, my soil is really loose and contains horticultural perlite, so the pH should be ok for pot...it's balanced for african violets. Do you (or anyone) have any experience making hash, I'm trying a recipe that involves cold water and shaking, I'm only using a little weed...it's not looking so good. :( Oh well, if it fails, I can always cook it in butter and make brownies or something. But dammit, I really wanna try hash!

Howdy jadeius,

Well..they look healthy, but they are stretched somewhat, you need to bring the light in as close as ya can,and put an oscillating fan on them too..hopefully you will reduce the stretching and strengthen the main stem. Be gentle with the fan.

I wish I could show you a pic of my plants, they have all been started outside, from seed, and the intensity of the sun,has made them short and stout, combined with the outdoor breeze. When I brought them indoors under my 1kwatt mh,the intensity of that light, reduced the internodal length, almost dramatically.

Have a good one ! :D

Howdy dylan,

Well I'll be daggumed ! I was wondering if anyone would notice the three leaf head of the polyploid..I reckon that this one is naturally occuring..is that possible ?

I used to git polyploid, back in my roughnecking days,in south Texas..and it kicked my butt !! The college students in Austin, were growing it..I wonder if they still are ? Have you ever toked any polyploid ?

Have a good one ! :D

hey torog, ya i have had a few natural polyploids in the past. man...some of the tightest buds i've ever seen, and great smoke too. i think it's just a genetic mutation of some sort. i have always thought how nice it would be to breed some polyloids to get a strain that always grows like that, but i didn't know if it was possable.

Yeah, you guys should see that plant up close, it's definitely mutated....little small pieces of the fat leaves have broken off and formed their own little leaves, and they're growing so fucking wild. My stems are very weak, and the plants are having trouble standing. I have the light really really close, within an inch or two. I can't put them outside anymore, they would be visible from my 2nd floor balcony (the road is right out in front.) The sun was really doing them good when they were small enough to put out there. I need to figure out something to get the roots to grow more (they have plenty of oxygen) and something to get the stem stronger and thicker. They'll be all good once they can stand better. The leaves are growing so fat, I'm almost sure it's indica. Any recommendations on the stem and roots?

Check out the babies now...they're not so babyish! The stem has thickened very well on the bigger one...it's holding out great. I'm a little worried about the little one though (the polyploid)...I had to re-pot it to get it out of that little cup...it went into shock and stopped growing. Well, it's been two weeks since I transplanted it, and I'm pretty sure it's starting to pick up some now...Is it OK if I didn't get all the roots buried completely? (There were a lot of them in that little cup!) I'm still only using one 42w flo. But the bigger one...it has totally shocked me! It is stretched quite a bit, but it's still beautiful. They're about 5 or 6 weeks old now; it's already giving off some smell. Comments, suggestions?

And here's the one that got shocked from transplanting. (The polyploid)

Also, 2 pics to show comparison of the two next to each other.

My bad, the plants are really only about 4 weeks old...I had to think about it because 5 or 6 just didn't sound right...
