okay this is my first grow and im now learning how important choosing the right strain is. Im growing two white widows and two big bud x platinum kush...big mistake with the big bud. These things are monstrous. Im growing hydroponically in a 4x4x6.5 tent and im using a 600watt hps bulb. Ever since i brought home my clones, they started growing like "weeds." Im starting the third week of flowering and they just keep growing, i cut the nitrogen way back and yet everyday i noticed about 1/4 to 1/2 inch growth. they are now about 4 in from the light and i cant get my light any higher. luckily i have an air cooled light so the heat isnt that bad about three inches below but today i noticed the leafs are folding like tacos, which from what i understand is due to heat stress. Not quite what to do since they still have a long haul ahead of them. Tomorrow im changin to aggressive bloom which completely cuts out the nitrogen, by the way im using gh 3part. Will this stop growth? What can i do about the plant tops too close to the light, should i bend them? Anyone looking to grow big bud be cautious!!! Pictures below.

Maybe supercrop them? Maybe take a whole bunch of clones for the tops before it's too late? Not really sure what to do with plants that big! Stretching is crucial in flower! Good luck on whatever you decide to do!!

I would probably bend em. It may cause em to take longer to finish since they will have to recover from the stress but just pay attention to em. You look like you have a good grasp of what you can do, let er rip.
I have some WW from greenhouse on day 16/flower and i'm thoroughly impressed with em. Already noticable buds and pushin small trichs. Not much stretch at all either. Wonderful for tent growing. I'm doing mine organic/soil in 5 gal containers and they are about 30"tall. Beautiful little bushes. I have a Skunk 1 in there with em, and that thing is stretch armstrong plus inspector gadget combined.
I'm gonna follow this through the end, I hope you are going to update along the way. Peace :rastasmoke:

Here's a video that shows how to supercrop. Also shows a really cool system to raise and lower lights with ease.

I hope this helps!

ok so my understanding is Supercropping is to trick the plant into thinking it has more than 1 main shoot and to allow light to penetrate the undergrowth better? I have been FiMing but this almost looks better

Every strain is different when it stretches in flower. supercroping if for veg time only.
Try your mother down. Once you get the tie downs in place don't push it. Just keep pulling them down alittle every couple of days. You don't need it much cause after week 4 of flower they will not stretch much more. Unless you have a late bloom strain.
Next time you know to start them earlier.
Oh, very nice grow. Your going to be very happy in a month. Layed out on a couch but very happy.
Keep us up.

YES! I neglected to mention that doing any kind of training should be done no later than a week before you flip to flower!!! If you try to train at all too late into your plant's cycle, you risk hermie-ing and/or shocking and stunting growth!!
BE SMART!

Just cut a mean ass clone off of them. Like a 1ft clone. I know you said it in flowering, but that doesn't matter, I've done it with a flowering plant; once the plant has formed it roots, it starts flowering again.

imatool666,
Love the WW..I too have had the same problem...I bend the top over and LST it using pipe cleaners....keeps the tops all the same height...Just go easy...
Keep Growin the Green!!
