Three weeks ago I started a Caramel Kush Grow. I have never smoked or seen Caramel Kush before I started it because It said it would have a sweat caramel smell and all I could think in my head is it would make the sweetest bubble hash so that is what I am going to do with it. I am growing them hydro in Poly, wanted to see how the ploy works so far so good, but I do have a big fear of mold with it. I am growing on a 50/50 HID/HPS. Starting them slow on low nuts and building them up. My idea is to veg them until about three feet high and then toss them into flower. I got about seven feet to play with. For the moment they are growing very nice. They do have a very sweet smell not skunky I would not say Caramel but something very sweet and nice. If anyone has ever had Caramel Kush or grown it please tell me about it.

I will put new pictures in this weekend... Anyways on these plants when I first started them I had flows and they were a bit to high to the plants grew very long and lanky trying to reach them I quickly put them under better light, but the plant filled that growth making these monster plants we will see how light stress in early plant dev. plays out but so far the results are good.

Do stresses in veg state roll into flower. Say I put some stresses on my plants when vegging and then I remove those stresses when flowering, do those stresses keep playing out, or does the plant go back to a normal grow state once the stress is removed.

if you are talking about stresses like LST, for example, then no. you should always LST through veg, and let it rebuild in flower. as long as what ever stresses you are putting on your end during veg, then they should be fine during flower.

I am growing some plants in Poly grow medium if you have not seen this stuff it is white fluffy like dense pillow stuffing I am just doing a test with it. Everything has been going great and then boom the temp here changed a little bit and massive green algea I think I have it under control dropped the temp, and covered the poly a bit better it was a bit exposed to the light, but it was amazing how fast it happened. I will add some pictures of it this weekend. Also getting a bit of curling on the leaves and some yellow, but it is not crazy so I flushed and now I am way down on the nuts for a few days. One of the thing is that the roots have gotten huge and they are down in the water, so they are drinking all the time I am this weekend going to fix it so I tell them when to drink again I hope this will also help with nut burning.

I have had some bumps, an algae problem think it might be under control, and a little bit of over feeding but I watch this stuff like like crazy I am OCD about it in hopes to never let any of it to go to far. Please tell me what you think. I live in CA when I am done with this grow I am going to give most of it to people with cancer or something, I am not a big smoker I just like growing plants... I do like cooking with cannabis I made french onion soup last night with magic butter, goat cheese toast, taste great and a light long lasting buzz...

I am building up both a mental data base, and a picture data base of my grows, all problems and the things I have learned... Now this picture that I took this is nut burn right? That is what I am looking at. I over cooked my plants my meter was tweeked right when the leaves started to curl I flushed everything for a few days and then slowly little by little started feeding them again, on a few of my leaves after about 5 days I am left with these brown tips can anyone explain this better or do I have the right idea.

Some of my large fan leaves are getting this blotchy yellowing and then they go kind of crunchy and slowly they become necrotic and black, at that point I cut off the leaf it has only happened to a few and the over all plant health looks good any one have an idea...

I grabbed a friend who is a greens person in the film industry, they grow all the plants for the movies, he also went to oaksterdam he loves to grow anything cannabis, exotic plants, coffee, he is great. Concluded that my PH meter is messed up and my plants are locked up... I am hydro so it is not to bad of a fix... But I want to get some before and after pictures. The fan leaves that are messed up is it best just to cut them off. I have on a few or should I keep them. I have been working towards this Idea that I have been over feeding them this entire time... Hmmm. So new rule have two meters so you can keep them in check every once and a while. This is a very solo gig and for some reason you don't think you meters are off you just think that stuff works, and it is not like you can go across the street and grab some ones ph meter to see if your is working. But this weekend I will toss up some more pictures.

This is my first indoor grow, so I am kind of learning as I go along. So as me and my before mentioned friend were going over all the pictures of my plants he saw pictures of the water drops... I did not know this but those water drops with 600w of hps are burning holes in my plants like little laser beams as that light passes through that convex lens of that water drop. That is really something you don't see outside... Pests other things but not that. It is cool I really like growing inside hydro.

that actually does happen outside. that's one of the reasons you don't water your lawn during the heat of the day.

I am one of those sorts of people that needs to understand the why things work.. When I was reading form I came across this

17) What is your ingoing water's ph? ...your runoff ph?

This relationship seams to be very important to me it would seam that this would be a look inside your plant its inner workings, but what does it mean say you run off if up or down, from you incoming water what does that relationship tell you?

did you check this (http://boards.cannabis.com/plant-problems/153522-soil-runoff-ph-flushing-correct-lockouts-why-how-do.html) thread out yet?

it explains it pretty well.

Here are some new pictures of my grow things are going well just not perfect that is causing frustration... But still so amazing just to watch them grow hydro is so cool because you can watch every step. I think kids should grow some kind of plant hydo tomatoes just to see who amazing this is... It also grounds you back to something very important that so much in life is free, for a time life is free, food can come from knowing how to grow it not buying it... I have spent a life time trying to make as much cash as I can, and this is such a grounding idea... That many of the things that we need in life can come from our own hands I think this is a secret that many want us to forget.

I pulled out two plants they were just not growing like the others now I am left with what I feel are several super strong plants... Some are clones so I know the sex the others are seeds. If I am lucky I will get one male and try to pop a few seeds we will see but with that in mind I wanted them all to be strong. I will pull a few away and bring into another space for flowering, but I know I need to start more in truth I lost half to me just not liking the level of robustness in a given plant and then the one to what ever that killed it.

They come from Cali Bean Bank... I know very little about them I started them with some O.G. Kush they seem to be a much easier plant to grow than the O.G. I have just started flowering so I think you may know more than me. On the seed they said they have a nice sweet taste and finish as for effect I am not sure but it will be fun to find out.

Depressed... I was at the hydro store and they had a kit for in vitro plant propagation some thing I have really wanted to look into for many reasons it just seams so cool, I would use it not just for cannabis, I would use it for many types of plants, but while talking with the guy at the store he said I should not buy it because if I did and I ran into trouble with the law this would make my case so much harder to explain, now I live in Cali I am growing no more than the law allows, but even with that in mind he said that if I look to organized and to high tech they can stick you with a conspiracy charge... It really is like the book 1984 when you can go to jail for knowing something, because really that is what it would be... It would be a trial because a person knows how to do something, even if the person was not doing it... It would be that knowledge on trial. He said for the most part if you are not a big lab just the chemicals involved for in vitro plant propagation stresses out people in law enforcement. To me knowledge stresses out the people in power. Unfocused research that is not for profit, or to benefit the state power structure is not legal in this country anymore. I do have hopes that one day the laws about cannabis are made more realistic, that the government understands that it has amazing medicinal qualities and that really everything changes. Until then I am just doing what I do under the law the way the laws are written. And here is the sad fact the laws help organized crime. The laws donā??t help knowledge, they donā??t help keep drugs off the street they donā??t help anyone other than fully committed criminals. I see them in the hydro shop every one and a while buying huge amounts of supplies. These are not granny growers, these are not hippies, these are members of large criminal organizations in it for one thing cash, and these are the people the laws help the most. So good going US Government hats off to you everyday you help make us all a little dumber, you help put tons of cash in violent criminals hands, you help stop tons of cash flowing into the state by keeping cannabis untaxed because of its legal status, and last but not least you stop vital research on a plant that by all standards is a cornucopia of pharmacal therapies for countless problems. Sorry there is my rant that all started with a kit for in vitro plant propagation and the desire to learn about something new.

Well I am sad to report that the recent heat wave has really killed off my grow just could not control heat, but all is well. I am starting a new grow and I learned a great deal from my last one. It is going to be blue cheese and super silver haze. I am going to start in a few weeks for the heat to calm down. It will be fun I built my own system and now I am building a better one by the time that is ready it should be cooled off and time to start again can't wait. I will take lots more pictures.
