I'm sure most of you have come across this before...the pot sparkles and burns awkwardly when lit. I've looked around the web a bit regarding this and found that the majority of cases were due to the pot not being flushed properly before harvesting.

The thing is, this weed is actually very good. Do the extra minerals not affect potency? And is it safe enough to smoke?

Well... i dont think the minerals would alter the potency of the weed... but maybe smoking them could cause some harm. Or not. I dont know.
Anyway, if youre worried about this, just search "water cure" in this boards... there are several threads about this technique, which can be useful for washing out impurities from the weed.

Thats gotta be really bad to smoke if its crackling like that. Improper flushing will attribute to bad taste and smell on occasion but if its burning different... You may have something crazy on your hands!! :rastasmoke:

IMO it might have been grown with heavy sythetics and/or chemicals. Usually if pot is grown with chems it will sparkle when lit and when the bowl is cashed out, it will more than likely be a black color rather than the nice organic ash white.

The thing that's throwing me off is the fact that it doesn't taste any different and it's really potent...I would never want anyone putting random stuff in my weed but if this isn't bad for me then bravo to the grower :jointsmile:

..all of the pot that I smoke is sparkly..and doesn't burn like compressed marijuana..this is most likely what you're experiencing..this is in fact high quality marijuana, smoke it and enjoy your buzz..I think people say that if it crackles a lot when burned it's an indication that it wasn't flushed as good as it could've been..I think..doesn't matter to me though, pot's pot..especially if it's grown in america
