What would you recommend...
A friend would like to start a SOG grow with strictly lowryder crosses. He will have a 10x12 foot area.. He wants to use soil.
He would like help coming up with a plan to harvest 40-50 plants every 3weeks.
Can u guys offer tips on lighting, ventilation, and any other aspect of this kind of grow... All seeds will be feminized. Thanks...

Yeah, that's really ambitious. Best of luck. you're working with 120 square feet. It's reccomended that you have 5000 lumens/sq foot optimally but its a good rule to go by, with your square footage that's enough for over 6 1000 W HPS systems. That's just going by the math from others on this site. According to the light manufacturers they say a single system will cover a 10x10 foot area. My guess is that if you only put one of those systems in your area some plants would be severely lacking but its all up to you. Each one will cost several hundred dollars, you better have about a grand in capitol to get this thing off the ground.

But shit with the amount of output from that little area...you could be making a quarter mill a year easy. Fuck the government has made marijuana lucrative.

Lol... Six 1k lamps is a bit much... Can you help him come up with a plan using two 1k lamps max or the equivelant using lower wattage but more lamps...thanks for your response.. He has about $2200 bucks to spend on startup... Thanks for your reply..

In terms of lumen/watt, hps is among the most efficient of systems. Good luck.

If he wants to grow that much, it would be much easier (in my opinion) to use hydroponics, you get more of a consistent plant and the plants grow faster as well. If hes new to this, I highly suggest downloading and watching this video.

Hope this helps :rastasmoke:

BTW,the $2200 for startup does not include the seeds. He will purchase the seeds outside of that budget... I'm going to post a list of the cost for lighting,pots,timers.. If anyone has an idea of how much soil and nutes would be needed to fill 100-150 pots can you post that so I can post a quote for that also... Thanks...

Its alot better just to make a system, and with that budget you could make a killer one. download the video, it teaches you how to make one

My computer is messed up so Ill check the vid out later .. This is what I have so far:

2 400w electronic switchable systems-$210/ea
2 600w electronic switchable sytems-$277/ea

Hydroponic systems from midwesthydroponics.com

Aeroflo2 model 60-$969

Can you guys check out the system and tell me if it would work.. If it would I would add 40 plants every 3 weeks.. How much median would I need for a system like this.. Can you also post an approximate cost of a ventilation setup... Thanks
