I have two street seed babes that have been growing for almost a year now-one is female for sure and the other i can't be sure.Surely they are blessed by the gods because they keep hanginin' there!
I think the main problem with them is that I mess with them WAYYY too much.
Both of them I have kept tied down, and have topped them quite a few times...Damn sure got lotsa tops and a plethora of stalks and braches.
The female has been messed with the most and has many branches and many bunches of leaves that are not as broad as a dollar bill is wide. I think because there are too many. The internodal lenths run about 1-1 1/2" so I think there's enuogh light???

My grow box:
36"h / 48"w / 30"d
1 4X48" T5 flour. & 1 2X24 T12 flour.
All walls, floor & ceiling covered w/ mylar
I water when I think it's time but probably too much-I water when they start lookin' droopy or when I can't feel moisture with my finger.
I planted with plain old MiracleGrow and try not to fertilize much. (I'm afraid of over doing it...again)
I just got kind of a handle on the temp. situation in the last few days. I've been running a $110 window A.C. thru a hole cut in the bottom of the box for quite awhile but have still seen temps at canopy level go over 100 degs. Not sure about humidity...Depends on where in the box the $5 gauge is altho I've seen the gauge as high as 85% and as low as 20%.
I think I have the temp. at about a consistant 80 degs. now.(since a couple of days ago)
I repotted both plants last Thurs. into 3 gallon pots & watered...what a mess I have now. If they pull out of this one, I'm gonna 12 & 12 them and see what happens...Poor babies! And then I'm gonna do ALOT more studying and start over...I'm trying to get a few clones from the female..No luck yet...Have 6 seedlings in Dixie cups waiting their turn. I'm hoping, with the help of y'all, the next try will work out a bit better for the babes.
I'm going to spend a few hundred bucks on my growing facility. More insulation, some fans & duct work, bigger box and some better lights & ventilation....All by y'alls design and ideas!
I want to say thanks for all the help you've given already:D

All things being equal, internode length is determined by the genetics.

Well, my southern friend, all of us in the south have heat problems. Most of the southern peeps don't grow inside in the summer. I won't be making the mistake of blooming under the HIDs during summer again.

Hey, Crabbyback...Thanks for the reply. Maybe growin' ain't my forte! My sweet betrothed keeps telling me that I'm loving them to death...I 'spect she's right. It's almost become an obsession with me . I think maybe I should just give it up and go to some quack and get a 'script for Valium or some kinda chemical bullshit or another...I just hate (and fear) goin' around and buying the smokeables...Kinda sorta of a I never had much fun in jail thing

Hi All, Was looking around on the net today for CFL systems...found some pretty neat stuff.
But what I found to be really cool (and I'm thinking of ordering today) is a StealthHydro Bubbleponics combo system. It comes with some small CFL lights, grow solutions, PH tester and blah, blah, blah:cool: The whole compact six plant system is less than $200 .
I already have a 4' X 4 bulb T5 H.O. fixture that works O.K. Might get another one with 6500 spectrum tubes and some 2700's for later.I guess what I'm asking is---What do Y'all think of the system?
BTW...I've learned more about growin' in the last few days than I ever knew in the 50 some-odd years prior. Thank youall so much...:smokin:

Maybe I should have posted this at the Hydro page? I just now thought about that.

I started 12-12 lite schedule 4 weeks come Tuesday. And they are flowering and making buds and I think it's gonna work! I have never learned so much so fast .Thanks to everyone for the help!
I'd post a picture but ...
Both plants seem to be mostly healthy but I have a few things goin' on I can't find answers to. Maybe y'all can help.
I have found on the under side of some of the newer fan leaves something that kinda looks like dirt or bugshit. It brushes off easily and doesn't seem to be affecting the leaves. I can't find signs of any creepie-crawlies since I put 5% sevin around the floor & bases of the pots a couple of weeks ago. I also sprinkled a little on the top of the soil of each. The other thing is there have been for about 1-1/2 weeks many very tiny whte spots on alot of the upper fan leaves and sugar? leaves. That is most of the newer leaves nearest the buds. I can't feel a texture to the spots and they really don't appear to be messing any thing up. The spots will not rub off with dry or wet finger or cloth.
I haven't seen any trichromes yet (not sure if it's time)
Other than that I think the babes are gonna be allright! After over a year of growin' two plants I'm gettin' pretty anxious for harvest day.
Once again...Thank You All very much....J

Hey skyhigh, email [email protected] if you want a lot of information I've taken from the boards and put into a couple pages then let me know. Might be nice to go along with your reading. The troubleshooting forum as shake mentioned also would be helpful. Good luck (and welcome)

Here's what we got goin' now .
I'm truly amazed that this would even happen.
Took these pics. Sunday. I've never seen this first hand before and it just gets my pump runnin' @ high speed...Wow -It's absolutely amazing how these plants want to grow!
The first pic shows the overall condition. The second shows the white spots that are now on damn near all the leaves. Maybe the beginning of trichs? Dunno...Guess we're fixin' to find out!...This is beginning the 5th week of 12/12 lite schedule....Can't find any signs of hermie...Sometimes even I get lucky......J

Well, the two old girls we've been growing at for almost two years finally made the ultimate sacrifice Sunday before last. I damn near got teary eyed.
We harvested a bunch of pretty nice buds about 9 weeks ago, left the lights at 12/12 until chop time. Got almost as much bud as the 1st harvest. The second cutting is a better buzz & taste better than the 1st.
I thought about doin' a bonsai/repot on them but I'm kinda short on room and they were just ol' bagseed babes anyway.
I guess they'l grow forever if you keep the light right and don't love them to death!
Anyway, trying to keep a couple plants going that long has helped me to learn kinda/sorta how to grow for the real.
Those two old sisters seemed to be dying more than they were growing most the time 'til I finally learned how to get the conditions about right.Thank youall so very much!!!
I'd like to wish all of you Happy Holidays and Easy Growin!!!:smokin:
