What are clones worth? Story and Poll.

So, I have a friend with an outdoor grow right now. The other day he brought up the idea of getting 4 clones of his girls, and letting me do my normal indoor grow, only I'd be guaranteed females. Sounded good, but I told him to let me think about it.

So I come back to him in a couple days, and said that everything sounded good. That I'd take his clones and do my thing.

Well, he told me, that because they are clones off HIS plants, that he believes he should get half my harvest. I told him that this was proposterous considering it's my supplies, my grow room, and my risk. His role, was literally to take the cuttings, and give them to me to clone. I told him I'd hook him up with SOME, but not half. Personally I do not believe that he's entitled to half my harvest... but I wanted to know what you guys think.

Half is way too much. Growing out a plant from seed isn't THAT hard and big deal if you have to pick out males. You can get tonsss of seeds from buying a dub of mids. Not to mention the risks you'll take by growing in your house farrr outweight the value of 4 garunteed females (clones).

I'd say a quarter of what you get would be somewhat fair.

tell him no way and forget it your not going to grow, start some seeds from mids, its not hard to pick male from female, and boom, all harvest is yours, no friend to think he got jipped and then report you to the cops like a little .. well you know :) plus im sure he is just growing some bagseed too, crapshoot on if its even good! ;)

I would be telling him to go pound sand. Maybe I'd give him a ounce when all was done, or just pay him 10-20 bucks per clone.

Anything over $10 a clone is preposterous... so for 4 clones, $40 max.. now $40 = 1/8oz weed normally, so thats about how much weed he should get out of the deal to keep everything fair.. Unless you only get like 1/4oz out of the whole project, his claim to "half the harvest" is laughable...

I think you erred, in your first sentence, when you called him your 'friend' :wtf: ... not at that percentage, :D

My thoughts exactly... that isn't the sort of 'friend' you need.

If the deal was that he provide the clones and you both split the prize...then yes, you should honor the deal.
But if there was no agreed-upon deal, and he still insists on payback I'd give him 8 rooted clones, and of course...
