hello,

I am new to this site and seems to be some knowledgeable peeps here:D

Dilemma: My scope broke, last checked the trichs showed no true signs of amber trichs. I say true signs because under this lighting i heard it can falsely show amber trichs without actually having any. is this true? I cant yank the plant out of the cab without damage, i cant get inside do to space. I am at 79 days of 12/12 and i have less than 10% pistils turning brown/orange/red. What to do? new scope is out of the question right now and at least for next couple weeks. Should i wait for a certain week then chop? OR wait for the old traditional way and wait for 75% of pistils to change? I need help, anyone can assist me here?

History: Bag seed, seems satavia dominant as it has no skinny nor fat leaves.
Flower time: 79-days today since 12/12 switch. First day of 12/12 05/06/2009
Soil grow: Happy Frog soil
PH: 6.8
Nutes: Home brand hydro solution 3-step nutes GROW GROW, GROW BASE & Bloom.
CAB: is 33" long by 30 wide by 6-foot tall
400-watt halide & have HPS conversion bulb
Temps at mid canopy is 75degrees at the very highest cola is 80-85degrees max and only couple times it reached this. I will get a picture up ASAP if needed

Thanks in advance

Peace

they are looking nice. wait till you see more ambering of the tricomes, and then once you have a nice amber color, wait till a good portion of the fan leaves start to yellow for no reason, then cut and cure. nice nugs.

With no scope and no know genetics, .....

It would be my guess that 95% of the people who grow to sell (where your bag seeds came from), use a variety of plant that can be harvested in 8-9 weeks. It is very challenging to try to guess sativa/indica/ mix from looking at one plant. Not all flavors have hairs that transform from white to red.

If it were me, I'd harvest at 80 days, 10 weeks. Or you could cut from a mid height bud, quick dry it (dehydrator, or improvised) and test some out....

I grow three different flavors. One does yellow and drop leaves as ripeness occurs. The other two do not.....So, me....I would bet the numbers game versus using that as the sole indicator.

Thanks, i am 86-days in and she is coming down this weekend...looked at her trichs and some some amber...lots of cloudy...very little clear......pistils have begun to recede back but did not change color....looks like 3oz wet top colas:D
