hi everyone ~
this is my second amateur attempt @ growing a plant as i failed miserably last year. :(
i transplanted this seedling into a bigger pot, using regular premium potting mix.
i'm hoping that i can get some input on what you all think of my plant (i.e. does it look healthy? is it worth it to even try with this plant? etc.) :

i tried growing a plant last year but i made a humongous mistake and planted it somewhere that didn't give it enough sunlight. this year, i'm planning on just putting it out in the open, somewhere that will give it a minimum of 8 hours sunlight. i won't be able to get it in the ground until july 25th but i will definitely prepare the soil before i do. any suggestions?
i'm a little concerned about my plant because of some of the dying/yellowing leaves @ the bottom but i'm wondering if it's just natural for that to happen. or, is this really cause for concern and do i have to try some kind of hydrogen peroxide solution to give the plant more oxygen?
anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated!
thanks!

wow - thanks for the feedback! this plant was started in april '09. i'm hoping that i can grow it a bit more before i put it in the ground.
should i be worried about some of the brown/dead leaves @ the bottom? i really want to make this work and i don't want another failure like last year's.
i'll post another updated photo as soon as i get a chance.

looks like its re-vegging. what kind of lighting schedule is it on?

I wouldn't worry about the lower dead leaves. It's natural. Just remove them so if they're diseased they won't spread to other parts of the plant.
I almost looks like there are buds on it near the main stem. Maybe it's just the pic though.

the plant gets +/- 7 or 8 hours of sunlight a day. here's the latest pic:

it's grown quite a bit but i'm worried that if i don't get it into the ground soon, it will start blooming while the plant is still small.
as well, the top of the plant looks a lot thinner than the base. is that a problem?
like any of you horticulturists out there, i want a humongous plant with maximum yield! (this plant smells SWEEEEEeeeeT!)

hi again:
i know that i haven't posted in a while to give weekly (or even monthly!) updates so i apologize about that. i'm kinda all over the place so i just thought that i've give a quick progress report. here's where i'm at now:
http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/3043/img5837z.jpg (http://img43.imageshack.us/i/img5837z.jpg/) http://img43.imageshack.us/img43/img5837z.jpg/1/w480.png (http://g.imageshack.us/img43/img5837z.jpg/1/)
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/9456/img5836.jpg (http://img225.imageshack.us/i/img5836.jpg/) http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/img5836.jpg/1/w480.png (http://g.imageshack.us/img225/img5836.jpg/1/)
unfortunately, i wasn't able to get 'er in the ground and have just left it in a pot. so far so good though.
the baby has grown quite a bit and is doing okay but as you can see, some of the leaves are yellowing. not quite sure what to do about this. other than that, the buds are coming in nicely.
any suggestions?

uh oh ~ now i'm starting to get worried. i awoke this morning to find that the plant (the leaves) are starting to really turn yellow:

does this look bad? should i use fertilizer to correct this? the area around the buds though are nice & green. . . .

That's normal, I pinch the yellow leaves off. In the Fall, marijuana plants lose their leaves and focus on flowering.

thanks for the reply! i was starting to get worried there. . . . what do you think of adding some fertilizer? does anyone have suggestions of a "safe" fertilizer?
