So on my grow closet I am running my water hoses and light cords through a 2 inch hole. Any suggestions on how to block that up so there is no light leak?

Tried using some thick black paper and duct tape but that still has some leakage.

Any help would be great.. Thanks

ball up a rag or t-shirt and stick in hole

That is a good idea. I will give that a try.

When I was in the Navy we had this stuff we called Monkey Shit. It was like a black silly putty you would put in wire pass through from space to space. Wonder if they make something like that in the public sector.

Spray foam. $5 or $6 a can. Does a good job of sealing.

thought about the spray foam and that would work but it becomes a semi-permanent situation and I would have to reapply ever time I make a change to the cord situation.

thanks for the thought and I may go that way..:D

depending on how much space you need to cover you could use some rubberbands. they'd slide with cord adjustments as needed. $.02

Duct seal is what your thinking of. You could get get some at an electrical supply house.

Take a picture and I can tell you what is needed

Duct Seal! that was it.. thanks..

I ended up using a T-Shirt with some black paper stapled over it, and all is good. I know I want to adjust my hoses soon so I did not want to make anything to hard to adjust.

thanks for all the ideas!

You might try making a little cover or something from a 6" to 4" duct adapter. That way you can just pull the thing off when you have to pull the hoses out. Just need that adapter and some tin sheers, and you could just cut it down tighter to make what you need and then flange it out, so you can duct tape it to the wall and run the hoses through it. Or you might try taking a 4" piece of flex duct and just make a cone out of a small piece of it. Try looking at Home Depot or Lowes in the HVAC ducting section, and I bet you can find something that you can jerry-rig.
