Hey, sorry no pics but i have (3) 4ft plants about 4 weeks into 12/12. I'm growing aeroponically with a 15 gal reservoir. i've got 2 400W HIDs and the plants have been growing strong. they're only 2 months old and are at a stage that i was told should take 3 1/2 months. yesterday it was time to flush the reservoir but the plants, being so damn unexpectedly tall have been getting a bit close to the lights. I did my best not to let the top cola touch the light but i was unsuccessful. I BURNT THE TOP COLA ON THE LIGHT!! it's not terrible but the hairs on one side of it are black now and a few of the guard leaves curled up real fast and turned brown. Will my top cola cease growth? has anyone had similar problems with theirs? what did you do to fix it? should i cut the cola off? or just let it finish as is? any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks

What is burnt is burnt. I would leave it alone and not stress it anymore by cutting any off. It will not grow from that spot but the rest of the plant should be fine.

Yup. Being a 14 week flowering plant it's likely a heavy sativa, so there may still be some internode stretch in her. Continue to watch your clearances. Should still fill-in nicely though, but the cola will not be long pristine. More like a big TootsiePop.
Repeated burning may stress to nanners.

thanks a lot for the speedy reply. yea i figured it would just stay burnt but if there was anything i could have done to help my favorite girl i wanted to find out. it is indeed a heavy sativa but the stretching has pretty much come to a stop. we bent the plant a little bit to pull it away from the light. can't raise the light anymore as it's on the ceiling. we also added the second light to give the bottom growth more lumen coverage. (both 400W HID) the inner buds are coming in quite nicely.
you mentioned stressing it to nanners. well we've already made that mistake by fucking with the timer after about 2 weeks of flowering.(this btw is my first grow) now we've cleared away all the balls and found a handful of seeds starting but they've continued to flower and the herm wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been.
also i think these seeds are from a herm so i imagine there is already a predisposition to hermie. so the seeds we get from this thing will likely be some mutant fucking plants.
