I have applied for a security job that requires a pre employment drug screening.
Unfortunately, I don't know what type of screening they will impose (urine, saliva, etc) so I can't really prepare yet because I don't know what detox product to buy.
My questions are:
1. What are the chances that they will do the drug test during the time of the interview?
2. Will they give me advanced notice of when the drug test will be and what type of test it will be?
3. Does the employer perform the test or do they send you to a doctor?
4. Someone recommended synthetic urine, but I read that synthetic urine doesn't have bubbles or odor like real urine. Wouldn't that be a dead giveaway?
5. Someone recommended Strip NC, but I am a chronic user. Would something like that still work for me?

Odds are it'll be urine but it could be something else. They usually send you to lab for the tests. There are chain of command rules that need to be followed and most employers don't know what they are.

A lack of smell and foam can be had in some human urine samples. Therefore, its improper for a lab to flag a urine sample on the basis of a no-smell & foam condition.

I have another question. If I buy a home test kit to test myself, will it let me know how much THC I have in my system or is it strictly pass/fail?

Home test kits are assays which are pass/fail.
In order to obtain a quantitative value, a GC/MS test must be performed on the sample.

If you pass a home test, what are the odds you'd fail a lab test?

Assuming the home test and the lab test both test for the same level of THC (most are around 50 ng/ml) you should have a very solid sign as to whether or not you'll pass. Remember though that THC levels can fluctuate, particularly in the short term.

I presume they do as 50ng/ml seems to be the standard. A faint line appears with no dilute on the home test, a bold line with a mild dilute. Thanks for taking the time to reply, by the way. Appreciate the community here.

Not a problem! Based on those results it looks like you're probably good to go. Best of luck!

If you buy the at home test kit from Walgreen's you can mail in your specimen and they will run a gc/ms and provide you with your actual thc ng/ml. It does take about 5-7 days to get your result.
