I am one my 3rd day of bubbleponics and am having problems from the get go.
second day of production i woke up to my ressi full of foam and the pump was barley working. does anyone know what causes this? Also i noticed my ressi water was stinky. what would cause that to happen. my ph level was 6.8 but now is 6.4 and slowly dropping do to ph down i put in today. I also live on well water is that good to use? My plant are starting to turn yellow at the bottoms and are drooping more everyday. Could i get some help or a push in the right direction. lights i am using are 2 cfl 46 watts and 2 led 56 watts.

That foam looks like soap?? The roots are dead.. your garden is going to be Fubard in a matter of a day or two.. if it isn't already..

Any idea what the foam would be?? Did you clean the res with soap??

SMG, i tried to help this guy in a different forum, the exact same thread. he has since posted his problems in the troubleshooting form thread, same post, pics and all. he then proceeded to put in in the appropriate place. same post and pics.

i gave him advice in the first thread and told him to fill out the troubleshooting form more than once. then weezard chimed in.

then in the troubleshooting form thread he posted and rusty told him to fill out the form.

now he's here and you have provided a link to fill out the troubleshooting form.

he obviously doesn't care to help himself.

my hostility is not directed at bongtok4u, i just get frustrated with trying to help people out that can't post in the correct forum or can't read properly or who won't do what is asked of them. the only reason things are asked is to help PROPERLY diagnose the problem.

he gives a few specifics, a few pics and says guess! that's called shotgun troubleshooting. you know, like when you hold a shotgun at your hip, shoot some bird shot at a big piece of paper filled with possibilities and then pick a random possibility to start at. that's not good from a troubleshooters end or for the person needing help.

i understand what you are saying. i try not to loose my cool, but i'm not perfect. i try to help out as much as i can. pay it forward as a lot of people like to say. hell, i've only been growing since last october!

to bongtok4u, sorry for acting like a jerk. help us help you. no one is gonna spoon feed you 'round here. we are here to help. there is a method to our madness (usually)! work with us. thanks.

good growing.

you guys rock.

Since everyone is arguing about the troubleshooting form, I sha'll post it here for you and you can just fill it out!

those roots look horrible, maybe you have some kind of bacteria in there that is creating the bubbles and giving you root rot? just a wild guess....try adding a capful of hydrogen peroxide to your reservoir to keep bacteria to a minimum

Not that this is the cause, but have you heard about the HydroHut outgassing problems from last year? (how old is yours, and are you the first owner?)

I have never grown hydro before but im quite sure that well water isn't good to use in a res because you can't be sure what is in it such as calcium levels etc. (I think)

well you got bubbles alright and slime on your roots.

I saw this and built one myself. It is a combo, bubble and drip. The whole problem is the drip side of it. Mine didn't get root rot at first it started fine and then the plants just stayed small. After a few weeks of nothing the roots started to rot and the project was scrapped.

On taking it all apart I found that the drip line going into the bottom of the netpots were clogged with the water roots and stopping the flow of water but just enough to keep the plants alive in bonsai manner. I tried this to keep the drip contained under the lid to prevent spills. The roots grew about 4 inches up into the drip lines.

I think this would work if the drip lines were taken into the top of netpots and put on a timer. Like most drip systems.

Move the drip lines to the top of the net pot and get some better nutes, some R/O water and some calmag. Every thing else sounds good. You will have success with minor changes. It's the learning curve. Or just go with the bubbler and not the drip.
