250 HPS in a cupboard. 3 fem. grapefruit and 1 hindu kush ( prob. male ;) )

I've been trying to scoure the net for any info. about gf. The one I have is a 75% c99 cross with a 'fruity' sativa. My plan is to harvest a little early as to maintain this plants original head high character.

For Veg: Starting 24hrs for a week then reducing to /18/16 each subsequent week followed by a 36hour dark period prior to flowering

Flowering: 12/12 for ~2months

I'm planning on transplanting from plastic cups with holes to a 7.5 litre. The 7.5 litre will be used all the way from veg to flower.

So, anyone got any recommendations? Anyone tasted this before? Got any ideas about THC %?

fire away

Hey, What exactly does the 36 hr dark period do for the plants before flowering?

Thanks

1st time grower here so don't flame anyone :D
I've heard that this should 'prepare' the plant for flowering so as to not stress it. Also the darkness helps the roots stretch out..

I must be on some crack. Since the posting I've been thinking 36hours is 2 days. dur. 48 hours..I think its time to de-tox and wait for my harvest!!

No you're not going nuts, I've heard about it too. Actually I read about it on thsseeds website. Cannabis is considered a short day plant, they have a hormone that is degraded in light. So long night periods like 12/12 allows this hormone to build up to high enough levels and it triggers flowering. Supposed to get the plant flowering a bit faster, and yes, it's 36 hrs according to them folks at thsseeds (1 and a half days) but lots of people just do the 12/12 thing and that works fine too.

I have herd those too. But i would just go with standard 18/6 and then go right to 12/12. Its proven so you won't be speculating weather it will work or not.

OK 36 - 48hr different horses, different courses. Not really worried about this stage yet tbh.
How about the transplant from a seedling cup to a 7.5 litre pot? Is that too much of a jump? Or should I slot a middle sized pot inbetween. I'm just worried that the 7.5 litre for my plant will seem gigantic compared to its old home
