I posted this thread in another room and got no responses. I figured this must be a first so i'll consider it my experiment, til I hear otherwise,OK? OK!
These two girls were so close to finishing (10.5wks) i decided to chop'em down before the mites really got bad. I didn't want to spray them with anything but i need to get the damn mites dead. It took all day to trim 1/2 of one plant, i'll do the other half tomorrow. Anyway, after trimming the buds i placed them in zip lock bag and into the frig. After six hours in the frig they (fn mites) appear to be immobile but that don't mean dead. I'll know more as the buds return to room temp.
If anyone has ever done this i'd love to hear your findings. Please keep in mind that my plants are 10.5 wks into flowering and were about to finish. LET ME BE PERFECTLY CLEAR.........I am in no way suggesting that anybody put their plants in the refrigerator to rid them of mites or anything else. This was bud

I keep cannabis foliage chilling in the fridge for future clones. I'd have to say that chilling for short periods (hours to days) of refrigeration does not kill mites. Longer periods (weeks to a month) will kill adult mites but not eggs. Eggs need deep freezing, which for my purposes defeats the purpose of chilling the foliage in the first place.

hi, i posted something I found about chillin with your spider mites in your other thread.

Basically it said that they can live up to the point of them freezing.

If you're putting them in the fridge, you're just pissing them off and allowing them to adjust to the cooler temperature. Mites that have adjusted to the cold can live in temperatures as low as -15 degrees C if there is high humidity.
